Chuck, Have reason to believe my ggg grandfather Micah H. Sellers may have had the middle name Henderson. I base this on the fact that his namesake Micah H. Sellers born ca 1860 in Roane Co TN to Newton Micah Sellers and Mary Angelina Phillips (old Micah's son and dil) was noted to have the middle name of Henderson. That's not proof, of course, but it's a clue. Old Micah had a brother John Sellers, and some researchers think he had a son John as well. He married Rachel Deathridge in Roane Co ca 1830. No way for me to link to your John for sure, but thought I'd mention it. This core family descends from James Sellars (17??-1820) of Burke Co NC and his wife Charity. Might be worth looking into. I have a page under Roane Co TN at the Sellers Family website. Cindy, I see you mention the name Newton in here. Do you have any idea where that might have come from? I assume its a family name. I ask, because my Clairssa Pearson, sister we think to the Micah, used the name Newton. Her oldest son, was named James Micah Newton Sellers. Also, Clarissa Pearson Ward's son, Wilson Lumpkin Ward, my GGrandfather, named his oldest son, Thomas Newton Ward. I have a feeling this is definitely a family name, and have wondered, if it could be someone's maiden name, possibly the Charity Sellers? Any ideas? Becky, I think the name Newton was definitely of some significance to this line, but I don't know in what way. It may come from Charity's line, as Henderson may as well. But what research I've done doesn't support the theory. That is, I have not found proof either way of where those names come from. Let me know if you find anything. I'll do the same.
