I think I've at least isolated the disconnect between the two groups of family trees about this line. There are apparently Church records of Louis Mathieu (Matthew) Sellers' marriage to Marie Reine Aucoin in St. Martin Parish, Louisiana which state that he was born in Charleston, SC in 1772, and that his father & mother were Mathieu (Matthew) Sellers and Esther Neel. So, one group of family trees claims William Benjamin (b. NC 1710) had a son Matthew (b. NC abt. 1743) who married Ann Corbett, and that Matthew & Ann had a son named Matthew Bacon (b. KY 1800) who married (1) Elizabeth Cash and (2) Angelina Leathers Lewis. Matthew Bacon did live in Louisiana for a time, but died in Baltimore in 1880. The other group claims William Benjamin had a son named Matthew who married Esther Neel, and that Matthew & Esther had a son named Louis Matthew (b. SC 1772) who married Marie Reine Aucoin in Louisiana in 1796. Obviously William Benjamin's son Matthew cannot have both lines of descent. Any solutions? -Ed
