Marie, I have not been able to reach Carlah. Sorry to hear she has been ill. I did talk to a man named Steve Due who knows her, and asked him to suggest to her that she could take the Bible to Kinkos or a similar copying/printing/publishing company. They could photograpically reproduce the family entries without harming the Bible for a modest fee. I know that both your Sellers group and I would love to have a copy. I haven't heard back from Steve. As far as I'm concerned, however, Carlah has already attested to the Bible's authenticity, and had provided us with as much of the family data as she could decipher. I believe that she is a person of integrity, so that constitutes sufficient proof for me on the William Benjamin Sellers matter. The actual age of the Bible is uncertain. The Title page says that it is comformable to the edition of 1611. This merely means that it conforms to the King James version of the Bible, which was first published in 1611. The Title page also says : English Edition Printed by Kneeland and Green Boston, Mass 1772 #412 This may very well be the year this particular Bible was first offered for public sale. If so, perhaps it was purchased originally by Matthew Sellers and his wife Ann Corbett, who entered Matthew's father's (William Benjamin) and grandfather's (Matthew) name to start a family record.
