One correction to my last email--A.L. Sellers died in 1976, not 1876 as I had written. I believe Samuel J. Sellers probably is your Ggrandfather. If this turns out to be the case, I would like to get from you his line forward as I do not have that information. I will be glad to share what I have back to William Sellers 1774-1864 (a common name in the Sellers line). The cause of death could be researched as Georgia started death certificates in 1917. Probably you could start with Thomas County. You'd have to research the county lines of that time which I have not familiarized myself with. You might have to look in Grady or Decatur counties also. As I wrote previously, Samuel's father was William Thomas Sellers. He had twin brother & sister as well as 5 other siblings. William Thomas' father was William Wright Sellers, and his father was William Sellers 1774-1864. I write you all this just in case some of your family members may be familiar with this information and it might strike a familiar cord. Be in touch. I plan on trying to get to Liberty Hill Cemetery which is where I believe that my ggparents are buried. That way I can get some dates and the name of his wife. I know her first name was Lula and her last name was Pollock, but I have been told that she was married before so Pollock would not have been her maiden name. Anyway I hope to answer some of these questions this weekend, If this turns out to be the same person that you have researched for me I would be glad to give you any information that I have. My mother, who's family is also from the same parts of Georgia told me that they were from what is now called Grady county, but back in that time period it was still Thomas. You mention twins. My grandmother said there were lots of twins in the Sellers side, I know of a set named Houston and Austin/Austen Sellers. She was a bit miffed with me when I told her it was the mother that made the number, and the father was responsible for the sex of child. Wish I could locate the Houston cousin that lived in Dallas area with two sons, Bill and Jimmy, that I last saw in 1947. ----- Original Message ----- From: joesellers To: SELLERS-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Wednesday, October 22, 2003 4:56 AM Subject: Re: [SELLERS] sellers line from South Georgia ----- Original Message ----- From: "hugg" <hugg@prodigy.net> To: <SELLERS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, October 20, 2003 5:03 PM Subject: Re: [SELLERS] sellers line from South Georgia > One correction to my last email--A.L. My line of Sellers, William Sellers 1774-1863 (NC), have numerous twins. My great grandfather (Whigham GA) had a twin sister. As I have researched his line, I have found several sets of twins.
