Some message boards I have seen believe that Hilliard's father was the son of Richard Sellers. They say Richard was a regular in the War of 1812 and that he had a brother named Howard. I am really interested in finding out who Hilliard's parents are and were they actually came from. Any idea where or how I could find this information? It is like it just stops and Hilliard. Snider was born in SC and that his father was born in Switzerland and both of John's grandparents were born in Switzerland. as for Rachels mother Susannah Oswalt she was born in SC and her father John George Oswalt was born in SC, but her mother Barbara Dickert was born in Mannheim, Germany. Is it possible that if there was Cherokee blood, it could have come from the Sellers side? When they moved he! re to Tuscaloosa,AL, I spoke with a Lavon Sellers that lives near Hilliard and Rachel's home place (he actually lives in what they call Sellers Town) and he said that his parents and grandparents said that an Indian tribe actually lived were his house and land is and that you can actually find all kinds of indian artifacts. I ask Lavon questions about the Sellers family, but he really did not know much. I am really a beginner at this, I have been researching for about seven months or so and any information you can share with me, would be greatly appreciated.
