Doug was the son of my uncle Ray Sellers and grandson of Amisa E. Sellers of Montgomery Co., IL. Frank Sellers Falls Church, VA _________________________________________ DEFOREST - Douglas C. Sellers, age 80, died on Friday, Sept. 22, 2006, at the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg. Douglas was born on Dec. 5, 1925, in Madison, the son of Raymond George and Lillian (Schaffer) Sellers. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Alvera Hummel on June 19, 1948, at the Morrisonville Evangelical Lutheran Church. Douglas owned and operated the Sellers Shell Service Station on Northport and Troy in Madison for 36 years. He and his wife, Alvera, enjoyed spending winters together in Mesa, Ariz., for 18 years. Douglas was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in DeForest. He is survived by his wife, Alvera of DeForest; his sons, Rick Sellers of Plano, Texas, James (Val) Sellers of Cottage Grove and Dean (Kathy) Sellers of Wyocena; nine grandchildren; father-in-law, Ted Moran; a special sister-in-law, Belinda Meyer of Morrisonville; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Sellers was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; two sisters; mother-in-law, Francis Moran; and father and mother-in-law, Bill and Irene Hummel. A memorial service will be held on Monday, Sept. 25, 2006, at 11 a.m. at CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH, DeForest, with the Rev. Jerry A. Olson officiating.
