She is age 12, and it appears she has a brother there as well, Frances Register, age 5. I believe this Martha is my gg grandmother, and her parents were Shadrach and Martha C. Register. Shadrach died in 1862 while serving in the Civil War. His wife must have died shortly afterwards, as the family is broken up in 1870. I see that Francis and Zilphy had a daughter named Martha C, but she married Charles H. Blizzard. Does anyone know what the connection is, if any, between the Register children and the Pridgen family? Also, can anyone do a lookup in the New Hanover records, library, etc. for the guardianship of Martha Register? I believe it would be between 1864-1870. Many, many thanks!
