MARIE, Fluckey info (without proof) states that George Fluckey married in Philadelphia but later lived in Huntingdon Co. PA which is adjacent to Mifflin. Might make Sellers/Fluckey neighbors in PA. I have been looking at PA/Arias, Mother Bedford and some other sources, including a book on Bedford--immediate parent county to Huntingdon. I may have some indication at least that during the Revolution and shortly afterward, the Sellers family was in Cumberland Co. (parent county to most counties in the area), perhaps close to Mifflin (circumstantial evidence) and later in Mifflin. Of course, having the right names does not prove absolutely that these are the right Sellers, so...I cannot find George Fluckey in the early PA census at all, and the only Isaac Sellers I found in the ARIAS militia cards is the one who married Mary Blackmore, went to Mason Co. KY and was killed by Indians there. Not the Bible family, I assume. Need some time to write up findings. Will probably post something later this evening. I found a 46-page family page for the Fluckey family, including three Fluckey/Sellers connection. It looks to be well done but without any proofs. The Shelby Co. IL family is there as well. Although I see no connection between the Rodman/Sellers of the family below and the Rodman/Sellers of Shelby Co. IL (Robert Sellers/Nancy Rodman), I suppose you have to think it possible. Think I saw some mention somewhere of Fayette Co. PA. All the lists seem to have the family somewhere (but all over) PA. Maybe finding Fluckey or Sellers in PA is possible. Unfortunately, I do not know if the connection predates OH. There is a mention (in a Morrow County bio, I think) that the two families--Sellers and Fluckey traveled together from another county in OH. With three total marriages, it is not surprising. I do get the point that it is necessary to pin them down in PA. Has anyone looked at the PA archives online? I'll have a look. For my own clarity, I am going to try to make a simple chart of the (assumed) marriages from the database I found on the Fluckey website. .G'night--freezing and under the weather (almost 12 inches of snow) Sherry from near Chicago marie sellers hollinger wrote: Isaac Sellers 1768/1818 dau Mary married Adam Fluckey, son of Geo 1750 Germany Isaac Sellers 1768/1818 son Jacob married Effa Eva Fluckey, son of Geo 1750 Germany I show this same ISAAC SELLERS 1768 son JOHN 1791 married to Martha Rodman, we worked on many years ago. We just don't know Where this Isaac Sellers 1768 was born in PA. They say Mifflin County in 1768 which could be 3/6 counties in PA. AND they say these kids married in 1825 PA - Yes, some kids could have stayed in PA and he came to OH in early 1800?? WE need their source of proof to MIFFLIN Co = they did NOT show a town, so don't think they used that idea. I did see a Shelby Co., IL link but didn't follow those kids back. I don't know how well this chart is Proven to Places in PA for our SELLERS. AND don't know if proven to our JOHN SELLERS 1775 bible who didn't marry till 1812 Fairfield , OH Lived very close. Use dates with Names helps separate families sometimes. In another note, you mentioned the surname FLUCKEY. The name rang a bell, as I looked up some cemtery records in Shelby Co. IL for someone a long time ago. It was the FLUCKEY-FAGG family and Malinda (Fagg) Fluckey, wife of Ira Adam Fluckey who was son of George Fluckey, as it turns out, was buried at the County Home (or possibly the children took the body). I disremember which. I did some searching tonight and there is a marriage between Adam Fluckey and Mary Sellers that belongs in the Isaac Sellers line. Someone has a file at Familysearch.org showing them with a son named George Washington Fluckey. Anyway, they confused the two George Fluckey's (there are actually more than two of them) and had Adam's son die in Shelby Co. IL. Adam's son, who belongs to Isaac's line, apparently died in OH. I will have to confirm this. Because of the prevalence of Adam and George in both lines, I am certain they are related, but there is clearly a mistake at Familysearch. Anyway, there is plenty of confusion. Think I can sort some of it out for the later generations. It may not help with Isaac Sellers, but at least the Sellers/Fluckey line will be correct for his family. I will NOT do the Shelby Co. IL family unless it looks like they have a Sellers connection. Need a little time. Okay? Sherry marie sellers hollinger wrote: SHERRY, it is interesting that this is a grandson of the ISAAC SELLERS died 1818 PERRY CO, OH. They show this Isaac born 1768 Mifflin Co., PA which wasn't made till 1789 from the counties connected to our PHILLIP SELLERS that died 1808 with son ISAAC. I don't seem to have a chart on him, altho we have a church record 1807 of an Isaac Sellers to a Maria Bachman. They show a Nancy Pauley. But, it is in this area.
