It is listed in the Ohio wills as = OHIO WILLS = ISAAC SELLERS, E-1826-PERRY CO., CPMB4, P47, 68 I believe this means there are 2 pages = Page 47 and Page 68? Common Pleas Court Minute Book 4 IS it same as you mentioned below? Do you have copy of original you could share? Would also like to see how James Sellers name is mentioned. What was date of probate? 1830's? had to be after 1831 when dau Nancy married? And Not all living kids listed?? 1820 Perry Co., Oh, Nancy Sellers over 45 = bef 1775 only has 3 males u 16 1830 Perry Co., Oh Nancy Sellers 1760/70 has a male 1760/1770 living with her Same? Is the Isaac Sellers died 1818, born ca 1768 her husband??? You have a good timeline on these land records. I haven't taken the time to check, but, thinking land the same, counties changed. I don't have/see this William Sellers?? And can't find my old Ohio land grant book this week. These may be the best answer/proof. Thank you for your help. marie, iowa -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: Sunday, February 18, 2007 9:50 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [SELLERS] Sellers/Fluckey Marie, Here's why you can't follow through to 1820. Graham's History of Fairfield and Perry Counties, O., published 1883, says on page 181 that Isaac Sellers died in 1818. He is said to have been the following, a: "warm-hearted Christian man in whose barn Rev. James Culbertson preached a farewell sermon, who died 1818 at age 49." The years work out for this to be Isaac Sellers, b. 1769-1770. Land patents suggest this Isaac was from Clayton Township. Isaac Sellers and William Sellers together patented 156.48 ac. in the SW part of Section 5 in Township 16 (Clayton Twp.) on March 8, 1813. This section is adjacent to the section where an Isaac Sellers patented 157 acres in 1804. This earlier patent was Clayton Twp., Section 6 on December 26, 1804. We can draw an inference that Isaac Sellers was closely connected to John Sellers who patented land in the same township on the same December 26, 1804. We can draw a second inference that Isaac Sellers was closely connected to William Sellers, since they both patented land in the same 640 acre section of land in 1813 (see above). (A later patent in that township was to Adam Zeller. It was in August 1805). Two other items. There is a possiblity Isaac b. 1869 left a wife Nancy: The 1820 census (conducted in November) of Clayton Twp., Perry Co., OH shows a young Isaac Sellars, a farmer, and a family of three people. This young Isaac is between 16 and 24, with wife between 16-26, and a daughter under 10. The 1828 membership rolls of the Unity Presbyterian Church of New Lexington, OH show an Isaac Sellers on the rolls listed just above Nancy Sellers. Perry County Estate Book E, p. 248, shows settlement of estate of Isaac and Nancy Sellars. Heirs shown are Joseph and Elizabeth Sellars of Marion County, OH, John and Martha Sellars of Perry County, OH, and Isaac and Nancy (Sellars) Cookson, of Sandusky County, OH. A James Sellars is also mentioned.
