Asheville Citizen Times, Asheville North Carolina Sunday Mary Preston Sellers West Asheville - Mary Preston Sellers, 94, formerly of 417 Haywood Road, West Asheville, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at Highland Farms Health Care Center. A native of Henry County, Ga., she was a daughter of the late William and Ethel Preston. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul G. Sellers, who died in 1992; two sons, Terry Ted Sellers and David H. Sellers; and granddaughter, Alexandra Sellers. Mrs. Sellers graduated from the Atlanta School of Business and was secretary to the president of Sears & Roebuck in Atlanta. She continued her employment with Sears after moving to Asheville. Mrs. Sellers and her husband, Paul, opened Sellers Cabinet Shop on Haywood Road in 1946. Following Paul's retirement, she continued the operation of Sellers Coin Shop and Income Tax Service until 1999. She was a member of West Asheville Business Association and Asheville Wesleyan Church, where she served as church secretary, treasurer and Sunday school teacher, and was actively involved with the Women's Missionary Society. Survivors include her two sons, Daniel B. Sellers and wife, Sandy, and Tommy G. Sellers, all of Asheville; grandchildren, Tony and wife, Doris, Josh, Preston and fiancee, Kiera, Morgan and Justin Sellers, Kristen Goldschmitt and husband, Scott, and Rebekah Blaylock and husband, Jonathan; great-grandson, Kaydon Sellers. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007, in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Harry Sellers officiating. Private burial will take place at Mount Moriah Wesleyan Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Asheville Wesleyan Church, 32 Richmond Ave., Asheville, NC 28806.
