His father's name was John H. Sellers, 1863-1926, also a lifelong Chicago resident. John and Lillie Appel had seven children -- Harry, Emmett, Roy, Willis, John Jr., Mildred and Edward. John and his first wife, Annie Appel, Lillie's sister, had two children, Lillian and Frederick. John's death certificate says his father's name was Peter; his mother's name is unknown.
