Marie: I looked for this John Sellers - 1830 Haywood Co., NC - earlier tonight, and do not find him as head of household in 1840 (Haywood or Macon). Also took a look at 1820 Wayne Co., KY. Why you may ask...... Nathan DeHart, who I mentioned as a neighbor of Nathan Thompson, in Haywood and Macon Co., NC, left Burke Co., NC (married 6 Nov. 1803 Catherine Christine Ramsey in Burke Co., NC) and went to Wayne Co., KY. Lived there a number of years and then migrated back to Haywood/Macon Co, NC by about 1830. There are several other families migrated and spent some time in Wayne Co., KY and then returned to western NC, before 1830. It's very odd. There is a John Sellers listed on the 1820 Wayne Co., KY census: John Sellers 2 m 0 to und. 10, 1 m 45 + -- 1 f 10 to und. 16, 1 f 26 to 45. This may be a second marriage for this John Sellers. There is a marriage listed 14 June 1813 Wayne Co., KY John Sellers and Sarah Roberts. It is curious, but don't know if he belongs to the Burke Co., NC Sellers or not. He is not in Wayne Co., KY by 1830. Nathan DeHart's oldest child John H. DeHart b. 26 Nov. 1804 Burke Co., NC, died in Swain Co., NC. Married a Jane Roberts 18 Oct 1823..appears in KY before they all returned to NC. Robert Sellers, son of Robert Sellers, Sr of Burke Co., NC took this route through Wayne Co., KY on his migration into Indiana. Robert Sellers married Sarah "Sally" Hall, the sister of Rev. Joshua Hall who married Sarah Sellers, sister of Robert Sellers, who are found in later Macon Co., NC (I mentioned them in an earlier post in relationship with James Sellers family in 1840.). There were a number of Hall heads of household in 1820 Wayne Co., KY. Seems odd, but I don't have enough documentation on this Sellers to make sense of the possible connection, if any.
