Well, I think I figured it out! I made a connection with someone with info about Pinkney Sellers which lead to even more info about Sarah A. Sellers McKinney. According to one of the family trees that I have run across Matilda is the daughter of Sarah Sellers before her marriage to Joseph McKinney. So, that's why she's living with Sarah McKinney.
