This group of Sellers appear to be the only one's that remained in the Burke/McDowell, etc area, which helps with sorting this all out. If I get lucky and find Joseph "Joe' and M. Elvira ? Sellers with family in 1870, then I'll try to do a post with the family in a chart. I know that both Pinckney "Pink" H.Sellers and his brother Josiah "Joe" Sellers are on the 1880 Mitchell Co., NC census. Their Mother, Elvira, is in McDowell with Louisa and her son Charles. (Joseph Sellers must have died prior to this) Daughter Sarah Ann is in McDowelll married to Joseph Tarpley McKinney. I don't know where Elizabeth, William or Mary are. And,, of course, where is Judge? Winnie's daughter Elizabeth appears to be living with Abagail McGee. It's a challenge trying to sort all of this out! I know that when Avery was formed in 1911 it was created from a large portion of Mitchell (1861) and a smaller portion of Watauga (1849)So we'll have to explore that as a possibility where some of the Sellers ended up. The net widens. Charmaine Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
