Wallace R Sellers died 30 October 2002 in Silver City, Grant, New Mexico "SELLERS: Vivian Ruth Sellers, 85, of Silver City [/Grant county, New Mexico/], went home to the Lord on Friday, Sept. 4,2009, at Fort Bayard Medical Center with son Robert and granddaughter Beverly by her side. There will be a visitation at Bright Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, Sept. 10, from 5-7 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 11, at 2 pm. at Bright Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery. She was born in Grove,Texas, on April 12, 1925, to Lillian Doss Jones and Walter Jones. She was raised in Texas and attended school there, graduating from Jonesboro High School in 1943. She met and married Wallace R. Sellers in 1946, and they moved to Silver City in 1947. Here they started their life and family, raising three sons, Robert, David and Joe Edward. Mrs. Sellers was an avid gardener and always had a yard full of beautiful roses. She also loved taking pictures of her family. She worked at Grant County Bank and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Silver City. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be dearly missed by all those who loved and knew her. Mrs. Sellers is survived by two sons, Robert R. Sellers and Joe E. Sellers, both of Silver City: two sisters, Bernice Carr of Dallas, Texas, and Katherine Robinett of Midland, Texas; one brother, Bruce Jones, and wife, Christine, of Tucson, Ariz.; and one daughter-in-law, Shirlene Sellers of Grand Junction, Colo. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Thomas Fortenberry and Amber of Laurel, Mont., James and Jennifer Fortenberry of Billings, MT, Beverly Lopez of Silver City, Monica Sellers of Denver, CO, Wendy and Matthew Likes of Grand Junction, Joe E. Sellers Jr. and CiCi of Colorado Springs, CO, and Shannan Stufflebeam of Roswell. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. Gwendolyn was a member of the First United Methodist Church for 51 years. She married Jack Sellers on January 1, 1942. She was a bookkeeper for 27 years at the State School for Boys. Gwendolyn was an unbelievable seamstress and loved her garden and yard work. She worked at the Gatesville Care Center for many years. Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Jack Sellers; sister, LaRue Hopson and husband, Gayle; several nieces and nephews; and many loved ones and friends.
