Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home in Columbus Junction. Burial is in the Columbus City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Columbus Junction United Methodist Church and the Iowa City Hospice. Mrs. Sellers was born Jan. 10, 1920, in Columbus City, the daughter of Arthur and Anna Allen Greene. She married Max M. Sellers Feb. 4, 1942, in Memphis, Mo. She worked as a beautician at Cora's Beauty Shop. She enjoyed 21 years of retirement with her husband in Florida. She was a member of the Columbus Junction United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and a 34 year member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed camping, playing cards, and helping her husband making afghans. She loved seeing her family and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Survivors include her husband, Max; two daughters, Jan Thompson and her husband, Robert, of Muscatine, and Rita Porter and her husband, Ron, of Columbus Junction; a sister, Helen Howell of Columbus Junction; three grandchildren, Todd Forbes and his wife, Glenda, of Noblesville, Ind., Heidi Hartsock and her husband, Ryan, of Columbus Junction, and Justin Porter of Columbus Junction; two step-grandsons, Joe Thompson and his wife, Heidi, of Stillwater, Minn., and Jon Thompson and his wife, Sara, of Oxford; four great-grandchildren, Kristin and Erik Forbes of Noblesville, Kurtis and Jacob Hartsock of Columbus Junction; three step-great-grandchildren, Stone, Ivy and Eve of Stillwater. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son and a brother. ================ WAPELLO, Iowa -- Marjorie Sellers, 92, Wapello, died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at Unity Hospital, Muscatine. Graveside services are 2 p.m. Friday, March 12, at the Cairo Cemetery, located west of Wapello. The Rev. Chris Thomas will officiate. There will be no visitation. Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello, is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Sellers was born July 30, 1911, in Cavour, S.D., the daughter of Otto and Velma Lather. She married William Frank Sellers March 12, 1943, in Santa Rosa, Calif. He preceded her in death Feb. 20, 1994. She was employed as a registered nurse in Oakland, Calif., for 48 years. Survivors include a brother, Ned Lather of Donna, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Lillian Sellers of Morning Sun and Beulah Sellers of Ottawa, Ill.; and 13 nieces and nephews. ================ DURANT, Iowa -- Beverly Jean Sellers, 73, Durant, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, at her home. The Rev. Dennis Hakes will officiate the services. Musical selections will be provided by organist, Kathy Luethye, and vocalist, Henry Bentley. Casket bearers are her grandchildren, Adrian Sellers, April Sellers, Jayden Sellers, Craig Sellers, Job Tillis, Noah Tillis, Rochelle Sellers and Laura Sellers. Burial will be at Oakridge Cemetery, West Liberty. Mrs. Sellers was born Oct. 24, 1931, in Muscatine, the daughter of Fred and Doris Maples Schneider Jr. She married Earl S. Sellers Nov. 12, 1949, in Moline, Ill. She graduated from West Liberty High School. She was a former member of the United Methodist Church in Wilton, Wahkonsa Country Club and the Music and Athletic boosters and PTA in Wilton. She enjoyed golfing and playing cards. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Tedy Tillis and husband, Jim, of DeWitt; three sons, Fred Sellers and wife, Peggy, of Council Bluffs, Ed Sellers and wife, Deanna, of Franklin, Ohio, Ned Sellers and wife, Ranae, of State Center; eight grandchildren, Adrian Sellers, April Sellers, Jayden Sellers, Craig Sellers, Job Tillis, Noah Tillis, Rochelle Sellers and Laura Sellers; and a great-grandchild, Preston Sellers.
