    1. [SELLERS] Isaac Sellers (1777-1848)
    2. Christine Smith
    3. I am trying to reconcile some inconsistent information. I have a copy of a typed sheet of information. Someone has written on it that it was sent by Mrs. Alice Andrews. The sheet says: "The following copied from grave stones on the farm of Isaac Sellers, now deceased. Isaac Sellers Born Dec 19th, 1777 Died June 11th, 1848. Kizzie Sellers Foster, daughter of Isaac Sellers Died 1902 age 93 years. Charles Foster born Dec 20th 1810 Died Oct. 20th, 1851. Barbara Foster born Sept 17th 1841 Died Sept 22nd, 1856. These graves on home farm of a section in Dyre County, Tenn. There was not any marker to Isaac Seller's wife's grave." I was recently sent some information that is inconsistent with the above. Inconsistencies are: 1. Isaac Sellers is noted as being buried in Sellers Cemetery, Gibson County, Tennessee. 2. Will of Isaac Sellers refers to daughter Kisiah Forester (not Foster.) 3. Kiziah Sellers birthdate noted as 9/14/1809 death 4/12/1903. 4. Kiziah Sellers buried in Duck Hill Cemetery, Gibson County, Tenn. Anyone know anything that can reconcile this? Anyone seen the cemetery on the Sellers farm? I do know that Kizzie was Kiziah's nickname and is what the family called her. Christine Smith

    1. [SELLERS] Marcus De Lafayette Sellers
    2. Michael Sellers
    3. In October 2006 there was discussion of Marcus De Lafayette Sellers (M.D.L. Sellers) and wife Rebecca James.  In the string at http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/SELLERS/2006-10/1160797305 it was stated that we needed the Obituary and/or Will of Marcus in order to further try and determine his lineage.  In following the discussion thread, I do not see that the Obit and/or Will was pulled and posted.  Did I miss it or are we still missing these items for Marcus? I have an online copy of his Death Certificate in Texas, and it was understandably blank concerning the names of his parents.  Marcus had moved from Champaign Co., IL, to San Antonio, Bexar Co., Texas, at about age 94 in 1921.  He died in San Antonio on March 2, 1925, at the age of "97 years, 22 days".  His body was sent back to Urbana, Champaign Co., IL, for burial. Marcus' mother was Keturah Ann Ransdall.  She was first married to Marcus father, a Sellers, prior to marrying David Leedy on Dec. 21, 1829, in Harrison Co., IN, when Marcus was nearly 2 years old.  I am trying to determine the name of Marcus' father.  I think it is an excellent possibility that Marcus' father was a son of James Sellers and Barbara White.  James Sellers and Barbara White were married November 8, 1796, in Rockingham Co., VA, before migrating to Harrison Co., IN, by 1820.  There are several Sellers marriages in Harrison County, IN, in the 1820s that involved James' and Barbara's children.  Since Marcus was born in Harrison Co., IN, in 1828, I think it heightens the possibility that James and Barbara (White) Sellers were his grandparents.  The obituary for one of their daughters, Delilah (Sellers) Nance, in 1892 confirmed that James and Barbara were the parents of 8 children; 4 boys and 4 girls.  I have been able to positively identify 6 but am missing one daughter and one son. If we've pulled Marcus' obituary and/or his will, could you please direct me to where we have it posted in the Sellers records and/or discussion?  If we haven't, what can we do to get a copy of these items for Marcus?  I'm in hopes that the Obituary will lend some clues as to the name of Marcus' father. Thanks! Michael Sellers

    2. Christine Smith
    3. I have large quantity of records for the family of my husband Ben Andrews, grandson of Frank Andrews (the Houston lawyer). Frank Andrews was grandson of Robert Sellers (1809-1893) and Margaret Miller, Robert Sellers 1st wife. I have a 1922 letter written by Frank Andrews' uncle, Isaac Sellers (1842-1930), son of Robert Sellers and his second wife. The letter describes the Sellers' family history in America and Texas. I joined ancestry.com so I could post the material where other family members could have access. I just started last week so not much is out there yet. I placed the letter on Robert and Isaac Sellers pages as a "story". Don't worry, I scanned a photocopy I've been using to try and figure out where all the people refered to are on the tree. Right now I am trying to place William Harvey Sellers referred to in the letter. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Christine Smith Andrews

    3. NEVADA, will send thru our SELLERS group for help. I don't show her on my sheet and she is not listed on the 1856 law suit of brother Peter, so deceased before that? Which child of Jacob and Mary Jane do you connect to and where they went appreciated. marie, iowa -----Original Message----- From: Nevada [mailto:nevada2@zoominternet.net] Sent: Sunday, November 29, 2009 11:39 AM To: mari@netins.net Subject: Sellers genealogy I am related to the Sellers family through the Fulmers of Washington County. Ohio. I believe the Fulmers came from the Ten Mile Creek area of Pennsylvania and I was going a google search of pioneer families in this area and came across your postings of several years back, mostly about Asa Sellers. George and Phebe Sellers had several children, two daughters, Mary Jane and Phebe married children of Peter Fulmer. The Sellers and Fulmers both had settled in Jolly Township, Washington County, Ohio, now Benton Township, Monroe County, Ohio. Phebe married John Fulmer and Jacob married Mary Jane. Jacob was my mother's gg grandfather (he died in the civil war). I was always fascinated by the Fulmer history as they were early Ohio pioneers. Somewhere in my files is a story told by my mother of Mary Jane crossing the Ohio River on horseback from W.Va. being chased by Indians with her father and brother on the Ohio side waiting for her. Although I have learned much about the Fulmer family and some on the Sellers side along the way, one Fulmer has eluded me. John married Phebe and lived just north of the Peter Fulmer and George Sellers lands. In 1845 era he sold his land and disappeared. I have not been able to find a trace of them in any records. I picked up your email addresses from an old postings so it may be obsolete but hope to get lucky and get a response. Thanks

    3. Marie - This is what I have documented from census data and old newspaper articles -- 1860 census for Cumberland, Allagany Co., MD lists Hiram Sellers, boat builder, wife Rebecca, children George age 17, Charles age 15, Ida age14, and Minnie age 12. There were two younger children not listed in that census -- one named Annie and another named William. . >From the Cumberland Times 1885 -- 27 MAR, wife of Hiram Sellers died last night. She will be buried in Rose Hill Cemetery. There were other Sellers family members also buried in RHC. The last one I have is Annie Sellers Deetz who died 27 SEPT 1924. She left a sister Miss Ida Sellers, and three brothers George, William, and Charles. That leaves a one generation gap between Hiram and George the travel agent In 02, I wrote to a Hiram Sellers in Baltimore to find out if he had a connection with Cumberland Co. Hiram, and could possibly be the father of George the travel agent. No response. It's frustrating. I'll try the travel agent--he should certainly know who his father and grandfather are.
