I believe that Almon married Martha Franklin in Coryell County, TX after the death of Prudence (March 03, 1808-Sept. 8, 1869). The middle name for Prudence is from Sellers family knowledge according to Neel and Barefoot Family Association contact ... Betty McDougald bettym@houston.rr.com . Find Almon L Sellars on the 1850 Pike County Ala census; page 242. No slaves listed. ancestry image 220 of 294 lists Almon L. ; Prudence; Edmund; Mary; Christopher; Solomon; Joel; Sarah; Elizabeth; John. Find Almond Sellars and Eldred Sellars on 1830 Brunswick N.C. census; page 317A&B. Eldred owns slaves. 1 male and 2 females under 10 along with 1 male and 1 female =24 but less than age 36. Almond does not have slaves ... perhaps he lives with his father Eldred and shares the slaves. ancestry.com images13 & 14 of 46. 1840 census Pike county, Alabama; Almon Sellars had no slaves listed. 4 males and 3 females in household. ancestry.com image 11 & 12 of 94. You are correct. Almon did marry Martha Franklin in 1871. I looked at those census records you mentioned and don't recall seeing any mention of slaves...at least I did not document it in my records as such - and I wanted to know about that. Did I miss where it was stated on the record? There's a post card of the "Family Home" at 337 Adams Street, Macon GA, circa 1910-1917. A funny picture of Ashley & Mannie at the Mercer Football Rally in 1910. I am assuming that the Mannie and Ashley they are referring to are really Mark Ashley, and Abbott Mannie sons of Mr. James Sellers. There is a picture of Mannie as a little toddler on a post card that is addressed to a Miss Elva Sellers of Nashville, TN. There is a 5th grade class picture of Mannie's Alexander No.2 School in Macon Georgia. There is a military grouping picture that is signed by Erle Dees, another son of this Mr. James Sellers. And there is a picture of Mr. James Sellers himself circa 1900-1905?? the back of the picture is a bit torn over the writing. There are other pictures as well but they are not written on. I found this envelope in a book I bought and as a genealogist myself, never had the heart to throw away. I am looking for a person out there who is related to these people and would sincerely love to have these historical pictures of their family history. You can contact me at teanah@hotmail.com or at teanah@banana.net to talk about these pictures.

JAMES, thanks. WE Need several tests from our SELLERS in EACH area we came from. THESE tests do NOT PROVE to a parent, but, shows the connecting 'Y' links of families. the DNA 101 explains best.= An individual's test results have little meaning on their own. You cannot take these numbers, plug them into some formula and find out who your ancestors are. The value of the test results depends on how your results compare to other test results. And even when you match someone else, it will only indicate that you and the person you match share a common ancestor. Depending on the number of markers tested and the number of matches it will indicate with a certain degree of probability how long ago this common ancestor existed. It will not show exactly who this ancestor is. ==== I believe most of our SELLERS males should do the test and compare the results. WE will learn. AND our members can help explain, etc. YES, I believe some of us will need to go to the 25 marker for CLOSER results, BUT, the 12 marker for $99/101 will get us started and SHOW us where we are?
