From the information you forwarded I can do more research on this family in Houston. Colonel Sellers was probably in the Civil War. His son, according to my calculations was killed in March 1922 in Ama, Louisiana. The family had newspaper clippings which had no date on them. I would like to find his family so I can share what I have with them. Some I believe are in Mississippi. Where did you find your info? Madge

He was married to Margaret Wilson of Londonderry Twp, Dauphin Co. about 1820. Their children were George, Mary,Hiram, Margaret, Sarah, David, et.al. George died about 1834-35 in Middletown. Margaret and the children moved to Hollidaysburg, Huntingdon (now Blair) Co. in 1835. George appears in the 1830 census for Middletown, along with ages and sexes of family members. I have tracked the family from 1835 to the present, but have no idea where George came from, except that he was among the "Scotch-Irish" immigrants in Dauphin Co. I would be extremely grateful for any information about George's familial background.

My GGGrandfather migrated from NC or SC through the Ala. Frontier onto Miss and eventually Mo. He was reportedly born in 1804 but another reliable source says 1812. His name was William Sellars. But, According to my father his real name was James William Sellars. I am intriqued with your posting of a James W. Sellars from the 1830 federal census. He isn't in Brunswick later on either. He was supposed to have six brothers. Some of their the names were Samuel, John, Thomas, David. I see some of those names listed too. Could you please look at the census and try to determine who James W. Sellars lived closest to or with in the 1830 census. Much obliged, Dave in Hilo

    3. ANN, thanks for sharing. I would just ask cousin/etc for their documentation = how proven, etc. OR check out Von Scheller family . Was VON SCHELLER the immigrant? what ship and when? WE have ZELLER immigrants proven to GERMANY and FRANCE by church records. WE have immigrants on diff ships from ENGLAND, etc = SEVERAL SPELLINGS = check the ship lists AND we do NOT have all ship lists. NO place of birth shown. YOU need the church/etc records to PROVE. WE are MISSING these documents. KELLER was a spelling for SELLER (K for S) and we don't have much info on = believe certain country spelling used K or S? SEVERAL changed names in US (OR used name spelling here) THE ship, census/tax/info takers Spelled by their SOUNDS, SO you are following these Documents by way THEY spelled it NOT our ORIGNAL families names. Also SOLLAR/SELLER. WE probably do need more work on spellings, BUT, where/when they came from would help solve. Thanks for sharing ideas. marie, iowa -----Original Message----- From: AKent616@aol.com [mailto:AKent616@aol.com] Sent: Wednesday, October 29, 2003 5:49 PM To: SELLERS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [SELLERS] Sellers, Abraham I've recently heard from a cousin that our ancestor, Abraham Jesse/Lenda Sellers, born in Pennsylvania, either he was the immigrant, or his father was...but that the original name was von Scheller of Germany.. and it was changed to Sellers in America. Now, the question is, has anyone on the list also heard this? Also, could the name have been also Zeller, Keller, Ciller...etc? I'd be interested in hearing some discussion along these lines. Ann K.
