John Here is my sources, #1605, 1607 1654 LDS IGI birthday and wife on some, The W comes from "Decendent of Andrew M Sellers", Capt John W Sellers who is Andrew's father, and yes William in my opinion, and I guess most was the first, however I feel that there is a missing link between William and John W, of course having John W when he was 56 years old is stretching it a little, so maybe there were other before John W, but they would not be in our line. Harry- I am confused. Andrew M. Sellers was born about 1774. I thought you were interested in Capt. John SELLERS (1718-1800), the father of Andrew M. Sellers . I wanted to know the source for your use of the initial "W". In my opinion "W" is possible, as I believe he is related to William Seller(s), (born England- about 1637) (the original emigrant from England to Isle of Wight Co., VA in about 1654). Yes, there are to many John Sellers to make sense of this. I would like to see your file. Hi, This may be my husband's aunt. Her name was Jo Sellers and she grew up in Birmingham. That generation is all dead now but I do have some files I can dig out to be sure of her middle name. She never married and was a school teacher. Betty Sellers (Robert Phillip Sellers)
Harry- Where did you find the middle initial "W" for Capt. John SELLERS, b.1718 ? My recollection is that he is listed only as John SELLERS in the 1790 and 1800 US censuses. As you know, the Eunice Sellers Pearson, ended up in Randolph Co. Al. living with her daugher Clarissa Pearson, and her husband William Ward! So, I'm wondering, if any of these Sellers could connect with mine? Also, the Deborah Gabriel, that sent this in, connects with the Burdettes, and Clarissa Pearson's sister, Seletha? married a Burdette! Also, I see the name Newton Sellers! I have a very strong feeling, that the name Newton, is somehow connected with the Sellers family! My Clarissa Pearson's middle name was Newton, and she had a son named Thomas Newton Ward! There just has to be some connection with some Newton's, I believe! Carole, I too was a little disappointed with my/the results so far. I was sure we would have some 12 for 12 results. I am anxious to see the results of the remainder of the participants. I did check out the ysearch site and I had 4 exact matches worldwide. I guy named Bailey in MD, another named Dover in England & two other different surnames in Germany. I don't really understand these exact matches, but they suggested I should get the 25 marker test to further check these out. I may have the 25 marker test done after I see the results of the rest of the SELLERS participants. Ed Sellers (Edgar R. Sellers) ----- Original Message ----- From: Carole S. In a message dated 1/16/2004 3:24:42 PM Eastern Standard Time, al@hewett.com writes: I believe that Simeon was the son of Simon Sellars whose will was written 26 December 1816 and was proved January 1817, Brunswick County N. C. Wills WB-B/115 or page 44 as stamped on the page. Simon lists Winner Baker as his wife, and his "two" children Simeon Sellars and Effy Greisson, wife of William Greisson. I have this Simon Sellers in my records as being married three times. He married Elizabeth Galloway about 1778, Susan Unknown before 1790, and Winney Baker April 26, 1814. By your calculations above, it appears that Susan Unknown was Simeon's mother. One thing that I don't quite understand is that my records reflect that Simon died in Texas in December, 1816. This doesn't quite jibe with his will being filed in Brunswick County, North Carolina. I would appreciate anything else you can come up with on these folks, and I'll be glad to share what little I have. -Ed Hudson
