    3. DEENA, will forward to our SELLERS group for help. marie, iowa -----Original Message----- From: Tex3257@aol.com [mailto:Tex3257@aol.com] Sent: Tuesday, January 27, 2004 6:55 AM To: SELLERS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: {not a subscriber} Looking for Information on Pink Sellers/NC Here is the information that I have. On the 1880 Census for Burke County/Mitchell County Census in the Toe River District lists the following: Pink Sellers head of household b. 1849 born in NC Susan Sellers wife b. 1852 born in NC (she went by the name Sulkie sometimes) Hattie (female b. 1873) born in NC Mary E. (female b. 1875) born in NC Jane D. (female b. 1878) born in NC died 4-09-1946 Jane D. which went by the name of Deppie was my gg-grandmother. She was given to a Norman family when she was a child (I have been told that Pink and Susan were poor and could not afford to raise another child) Deppie married Mack (Mcbrown) Pitman b. 1878 d. 9-06-1960, they had 9 children. I have been told that Pink was a popular name in that era, probably short for Pinkney or Pickney. I have not been able to find Pink or Susan on any other census, death records, birth records, etc. They seemed to have disappeared after the 1880 census. And the fact that most early records for that area were destroyed by fire doesnt help either. Any informatin would be helpful and appreciated. Thanks, Deena

Reed Sellers was a brother to Harry Heli Sellers. I am trying to read the Births from the page in the Bible and it looks like his full name is Reed Louis Houston Sellers. Right under his name in the Bible it has Vera Elva Craig and I am wondering if perhaps she is the wife of Reed Sellers. She was born February 20, 1910 as best as I can read it. The writing is very faint and slightly blurred. Re-reading Daniel Bowman's birth date, I think it is June 16, 1866 rather than 1868. BATTIN [mailto:sbattin2034@msn.com] Sent: Saturday, January 24, 2004 8:21 PM To: mari@netins.net Subject: Sellers family Mari, I'm sorry I haven't posted anything or gotten back to you, but we had a computer failure and a new e-mail address and so on. I've found John H. Sellers in the 1900, 1910, 1920 and 1930 censuses, all in Chicago, but haven't seemed to be able to locate him any earlier. I have a copy of a marriage license for a John H. -- or perhaps C, believe it or not -- Sellers and Annie Appel on Feb. 18, 1889. I can't find any trace of the marriage license for him and Lilly Appel, her sister, who married him after Annie died. Annie left one daughter, Lillian Sellers, I believe. The rest of the children are my great-grandmother Lilly's, I believe. She died when my grandfather, Willis, was 10, so that would be about 1914. Willis' other siblings were Frederick, Harry, Emmett, Roy, Mildred, Edward and John. They were all born in Chicago. My grandfather died in 1949 in Chicago, a couple of years before I was born, so I never heard any stories from him. Do we have any connections? I'm so sorry to be forward and e-mail you directly. I hope you don't mind. Thank you, Sandy McCraw Battin
