I'm most familiar with the early part of the family history concerning the immediate family of Jacob Sellers and of his son, George, that you mentioned. I can fill you in on information from that earlier part of the family. I'll rely on you for family info concerning your line more recently. Adam was my 5 Great Grandfather. In the course of researching him, I have seen the FamilySearch info that you mention that lists Jacob as being a son of Adam. Unfortunately, that info is entirely incorrect but is still out there to trip people up in their research. Jacob Sellers was Adam's nephew, not his son. Jacob was the son of Adam's older brother, Johannes Zeller (John Sellers), and is buried in the Pioneer Cemetery in Warren County, Ohio. Pictures of Jacob's gravestone are posted online, and I can send you the weblink if you'd like. You and I do share ancestors in the form of Adam's and John's parents, Heinrich and Anna Maria (FECHTER) Zeller. I descend from Heinrich via Adam while you descend from Heinrich via John. If you'd like, I can give you an overview of your side of the family and your ancestry via your email address. I don't know how much I can post here and wouldn't want to bog anyone down with details that aren't pertinent to them. I'll send you details of your Sellers line from what I have and hopefully can answer any questions you might have. Talk to you soon, cousin! Michael

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/JWGBAEB/1134.1 Message Board Post: Gracie, I'm pretty sure I can help you with this. If the Adam Sellers you're seeking information for is the one I think he is, then I descend from him as well and have the line pretty well mapped. Would be happy to discuss and share the info with you. I'm curious, though, as to the info you have and its source that points to two Adam Sellers. You stated that the second Adam was also born 1742 in Clear Creek, Ohio. That isn't possible. Ohio didn't begin to be settled until after the Ordinance of 1787 that created the Northwest Territory, of which what is now Ohio was included. I think the "Clear Creek" you are referring to is the Clearcreek Township in Warren County, Ohio, which wasn't formed until circa 1803. I think you have essentially the right info but possibly just attributed to the wrong people. There were two Adam Sellers in the Clearcreek Township of Warren County, Ohio, however, one was the grandfather Adam (1742 - 1821) and the other was his grandson, also named Adam Sellers, via his 3rd son, Peter Sellers. The Jacob you mention was not Adam's son. He was the son of Adam's older brother, John Sellers. If you descend from Jacob, then Adam Sellers is not your 4 G grandfather. Also, the "Rockingham" you refer to is Rockingham County, Virginia, not West Virginia. The family settled in the Elkton and McGaheysville areas of Rockingham County, Virginia, prior to the near wholesale migration of all lines to Warren County, Ohio, and beyond. Gracie, please respond at your convenience with any and all questions that you have. I'd be more than happy to share with you what I have and to help get all the info and the family lines in order :-) As I said before, I descend from Adam and have both his lines as well as those of most of his siblings traced as well. Which I believe to be our cousins... The Census records state that JONAS was a native of MD. which most likely means he was born there... Although I have heard many rumors to the parentage of Jonas Zeller, there has been no records surface so far, or as to the burials in MD... John died in 1850 and I did find a newspaper posting as to his estate. Later found Michael Cramer Zeller lands records sold to a family named WOLGAMOTT.. Alot of Zeller / Zellers land records exist in MD... In Washington Co., alone there are 19 pages of Indexed listings which list all named land records... I was fortunate to be able to copy alot of them but have gotten the other Zeller family mixed in with them... I have pretty much seperated those to my family.. The land records for the Zeller / Zellers family date from 1778 to 1936... I know my family wouldn't be there any later than 1844... The ones that didn't migrate to Ogle Co., IL. would be there...
