    3. BETTY, thanks. AS you ALL know, the dna tests, results are kinda new to most of us and we must learn how to read, etc. SOMEONE else on here can probably explain better than I and I hope they do. I believe I would share Your family with us = Robert Phillip Sellers born when /where Parents = Grandparents = I do appreciate you doing the DNA test AND sharing results BUT, there is NO reason not to share your family AND if YOU don't share, WHERE are you going to GO? THESE families must be proven thro each family and sometimes more. I believe I would start with the 14454 test which shows = 14454 = Robert Phillip Sellers No 12 Marker Y-DNA Matches Found ==== on THAT/YOUR page you can go to ETHNIC, etc and shows results to ETHNICS/NOT FAMILY HOPEFULLY, you will SHARE YOUR FAMILY REREAD their RESULTS and we will ALL work together. marie, iowa -----Original Message----- From: BSSellers@aol.com [mailto:BSSellers@aol.com] Sent: Tuesday, February 17, 2004 9:15 PM To: SELLERS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [SELLERS] RE: DNA is in!/SWAIN/SELLERS/BRUNSWICK CO, NC chart Dear Marie, I am going to include the oldest known ancestor of the four people that my husband matched in the twelve test in order that someone might have more info on the ancestors. 3. Georgia: This is what I know about Young Sellars. He was born about 1789 in North Carolina. He is the son of Judith Sellars of Hall County Georgia. Judith died about 1850 and left a will naming her children as, Young, David, James, Hiram, Catherine Green of South Carolina, Mary Byford, Happy Hanes, Cynthia Flynn and Nancy Cockram. Judith was approximately 100 years of age at her death. She was born about 1750 in North Carolina. Young Sellars is first found on the 1830 census in Jackson County Alabama married to Sarah Unknown and he is a blacksmith. Young died between 1860-1870 in Jackson County Alabama. We have documents that tie Young to his mother Judith. Carl Sellars and I believe that Young Sellars was married first to Margaret Green, abt 1792 in Caswell County North Carolina. They are believed to have been married in Pendleton District South Carolina. Margaret Green is found in Saint Clair County Alabama in 1820 living close to the David Sellars mentioned above (brother of Young). Margaret Sellars remarried in 1820 to Arch Walker and died about 1849 in St. Clair County Alabama. Margaret Sellars on the 1820 census had 4 children that have been identified as Burwell, George W., Melinda and an Unknown daughter. Carl descends from Burwell and I descend from George W. Carl and I have had the DNA test and have determined that we definitly descend from a common ancestor which we believe to be Young Sellars of Alabama. Many questions still remain. We are not conclusive that Judith's husband was David or that he was as son of Young. There also is Ruth Sellars that married in Hall County Georgia that we was not mentioned in Judith's will that we cannot tie into. Also there is some connection with Judith and Fayette County Georgia and Sellars found there. These Sellars also tie to Sellars in Tennessee. We also have no idea where Young Sellars was in 1820 census since he was not listed with Margaret. Carl belives that our line descends from the Robert Sellers that you mentioned but we have not been able to put it together at this time. Any help that you could give would be greatly appreciated. If you need any further information I will try to find. Thanks Tom Tom Sellars, CPA HEREFORD, LYNCH, SELLARS & KIRKHAM, P.C. In one of the above deed James Sellers mentions that John Sellers is his son but does not say the same about David Sellers. This is why I have never listed him as a son. I wonder if David Sellers is possibly a son of James' brother John Sellers that we have never been able to locate. Sellars of Walker County, TX I was looking at your ancestor charts and note that you have Young Sellers from Chatham County, NC as your 3rd great grandfather. The only Young Sellers that I know that was in Chatham was the son of James Y/T Sellers and was still living in Chatham County, NC in the 1850 census. Deed Records show that James Y/T Sellers had dealings with a David Sellers but I do not know who he is. David Sellers is possibly the son of James Y/T Sellers that died in Chatham circa 1805. Are you sure that David had a son named Young? Here are the known children of James T/Y Sellers (I have often wondered if the name is James Young Sellers): James T/Y Sellers born circa 1735 Scotland or England died 1805 Chatham County, North Carolina married Patience Parker, who died 1812 in Maury County, Tennessee Known children: James Sellers, Jr. born abt 1756; Robert Sellers born abt 1765 married Sarah Bynum; Ruth Sellers born abt 1768 married Isham Bilbrey; Isaac Sellers, Sr. abt 1769 Orange County, NC died 1830 Maury County, Tennessee married Judith Johnson, this is my Sellers line; John Sellers born abt 1770 NC died 1824 Maury County, TN married Elizabeth Hart; Laird Sellers born 13 Dec 1771 Chatham County, NC died 1862 Moniteau County, Missouri married Anne Hackney and #2 Elizabeth Goodwin; Patience Sellers born abt 1774 Chatham County, NC died abt 1812 Maury County, TN; married Wiley Griffin; Rachel Sellers born abt 1775 Chatham County, NC , died Overton County, TN, married John Hammock; Young Sellers born abt 1784 Chatham County, NC, died 1850-1860 Chatham County, NC married Elizabeth Hackney; The name Young Sellers is a family name used by both James T/Y Sellers and his brother Robert Sellers that lived in Burke County, NC. I actually got in contact with someone who had a TON of information on Joseph Ward and his brothers! He said one thing of interest was that 3 of the brothers were part of Lee's army when he surrendered at Appomattox. I will forward that information to you when I get it. He says it will take approximately two months because he has to reorganize the information. As for Joseph A Ward, all I know is that he was born in 1843 - pased on in 1897. I believe he's buried in Texas. He was born and married in Henry County. He had three wives. Their names are (?) Johnson, Lydia Angeline Pelham, and Annie McDougle. He had 3 brothers: William G., Wiley G., and John W. Ward. All born between 1840 - 1852 in Henry County, Alabama. Prior to 1860 Joseph and Wiley were sent to live with a cousin, Christopher Ward, and his family. Young John W. was sent to live with William H. and Nancy Ward. Also Joseph came to Texas after the war. He had two sons James Thomas Ward (1865), and Johnny Ward (1870). Both came with him to Texas. He also had a daughter born around 1868 (Maggie) that stayed in Alabama. His other daughter, Mary Lee "Mollie" Ward is my grandmother's mother. Any additional information found between now and then would be greatly appreciated =) Thank you for the help!
