Hi! I'm going to throw a "far-fetched" question in here. I have 2 male Sellers with the middle name Leroy, I have never been able to figure out who they were named for. William Grant Sellers b 1870 in Heidelburg area, PA md. Fannie Rebecca Young. They moved to the Summit County area of Ohio. They had a son they named Paul Leroy Sellers sr. b 1895-1958, he died in Loyal Oak, Ohio. He then named his son Paul Leroy Jr. b 1918 Still looking for the source of the name Paul too. Williams parents were George 1837-1919 and Sarah Catherine Albright 1837-1927---died in Berks County, PA. Georges parents John Sellers 1813-1889 Leah Snyder 1814-1895, lived in Voganville, Lancaster County PA Johns father is my brick wall a mysterious George and a mother Nancy that's buried in Pequa township, Lancaster County PA. I was just wondering if somehow there's a connection. Told you it was far-fetched----- : ) nancy rupp-shultis ----- Original Message ----- From: "marie sellers hollinger" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, September 11, 2006 3:56 PM Subject: RE: [SELLERS] family of Richard Warren SELLERS > DANIEL and all. > > I believe this is LE ROY SELLERS 1881 IA. Bingo! Marie you nailed it right on the head. >From what I see in your email, the lineage is as follows: -my grandafther was William (Guillermo) Sellers -my great grandfather was Richard "Dick" Sellers (whose death preceded Roy's and it seems by a long time b/c Dick is not alive when Roy is 10 years old. Makes sense because Dick was tragically killed by one of the trains he was working on in Ecuador) -my great great grandfather was Dr. Lucullus R. Sellers (this is where I got emotional b/c these are people I've never heard of. Or maybe it's all the 9/11 homage being paid today; nevertheless, I was moved) Marie, this is very exciting. I appreciate your help and would sincerely welcome more of it but if I am bothering you, I understand. I would like to make contact (and hopefully meet) the Sellers. For those who may be new to genealogy, here is a website with the death dates of a dozen or so Sellers from Texas. Only goes back to 1966, though. http://vitals.rootsweb.com/tx/death/search.cgi
This may be a good tool for other researchers, because there are numerous other Sellards/Seller/Sellars/Sellers in the University of Louisville medical school list. Hello, Lucullus R. Sellers was a first year medical school student at the University of Louisvile Medical School in 1877. See _www.library.louisville.edu/kornhauser_ (http://www.library.louisville.edu/kornhauser) . Kornhauser is the name of UL's Health Sciences Library. Frank Sellers Falls Church, VA

Not sure the first attempt worked or not. Anyway... The John and Elizabeth Sellers from Madison County, IN are in my files, though I don't have a whole lot of info. I have John Sellers as the son of Isaac and Nancy (Brandon) Sellers, Isaac being the son of Isaac and Rebekah Sellers, and Isaac the son of Samuel Sellers of Cumberland County, PA. There are doctors in that line. John Sellers of Madison had a nephew who was a doctor. This was Dr. Charles Sellers (Blackford Co., IN) son of Isaac and Emma Troxell Sellers. I have never been able to trace this line after the 1860 census. I hope this helps. Jim Sellars

You'll have to excuse me if this goes out a few times. Jim Sellars
I'm not sure this was sent out, but here's the 1880 census for Linn Co., KS: Sheridan, Linn Co., KS John Sellers, abt 1823, IN self, farmer, widower, parents born KY Elvonia Sellers, abt 1857, IN, dau, house keeper Selena Sellers, abt 1860, IN, dau, keeping house Alma Sellers, abt 1862, IN, dau, house keepr Mary A. Marie, I have tried to help Daniel on this family and am drawing blanks. Dr. Lucullus R. Sellers (born about 1844-1849 Indiana) had sons Roy (further research shown name is John Roy Sellers) and Claude but no Richard Warren Sellers. They are in 1920 Pawnee County, Kansas. However, in the 1910 Miama County, Kansas, census there is a Charles S. Stokes living next door to Dr. L. R. Sellers and he has a son, Warren, born 1892 in Kansas. Dr. Lucullus R. Sellers and Charles S. Stokes are working at the Kansas State Insane Asylum as a doctor and Charles Stokes is a steward. 1900 Miami County, Kansas enumerated by Lucullus R. DANIEL, thanks. So Richard Warren Sellers son = whom? = NAME! Born ca 1915, died at 75 at 1990. Was he born ca 1915 in US? BEFore he went to Ecuador? Two brothers? Names = they could be on a 1920 census if we know names. Most genealogy records are before 1930 unless you have family info. So, places and dates are very important. Otherwise, you need to order some death info OR? Help where you can. marie, iowa -----Original Message----- From: Daniel Suniga [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, September 08, 2006 4:36 PM To: marie sellers hollinger Subject: RE: {not a subscriber} family of Richard Warren Sellers: Topeka, KS Thank you for the response Marie. Before answering your questions, I should tell you that most of the info that has been passed down to me is limited b/c the family members in Ecuador who had at one point made direct contact, have all died. ----- do you have any dates on your RICHARD WARREN SELLERS? **no. The only time reference I have is that his son (my grandfather) died in 1990 at the age of 75. We can assume my grandfather was bonr when Richard was early thirties perhaps. Was he born in Topeka , KS or family lived there certain years? **One of the living family members in Ecuador recalls Topeka from the mailed correspondence they (U.S. Sellers) had sent the Ecuador Sellers. They certainly lived there in the early 1980's but not sure if born there as well. Where did CLAUDE and ROY SELLERS live, die? May help also. **Would guess they lived and died in Topeka. **Three additional comment that may help: - the family was of German decent - Richard was sent to Ecuador by a U.S. railroad company as a railroad engineer. I am guessing not too many railroad companies existed in Kansas back then. There must be documented info. - shortly after Richard's death, the family in the U.S. tried to locate his three sons through the US consulate in Ecuador. There must be documented info. Scared of having here children drafted to the U.S. armed forces during war, Richard's widow (maiden name Carrion) never replied and totally cut off communication and remarried. Thank you so much!
