If that is the same Marcus D. L. Sellers he is in the 1920 Campaign County, Illinois census dated January 19, 1920 and in the Palo Pinto County, Texas Census dated January 23, 1920. I don't think they could travel that fast back then but perhaps he was listed in Champaign County, IL but had actually left for Texas. Research needs to be done on H. F. Horton and wife Rachel to see how M. D. S/L Sellers is an uncle. Georgia #1 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Georgia L. >From the Mennonite newspaper Herald of Truth, dated August 1, 1896. GROVE.-On the 24th of April, 1896, in Augusta Co., Va., Arthur Sellers, beloved son of Bro. Isaac and Sister Lizzie Grove, aged 1 year, 2 months and 21 days. "Little Arthur was too fair, In this cold world to stay, So God in mercy called him home, To dwell in endless day."
That's from over in my (former) neck of the woods, though I've always known the Mennonites to be just across the county line in Rockingham county. The father, Isaac Newton Grove, is buried in the Union Chapel Cemetery just east of Weyers Cave, Augusta County, Virginia. Its located on Route 773 about 4/10s of a mile south of the intersection with route 769. Wife "E. Elizabeth Grove" is buried with him. Isaac Newton Grove was the s/o Isaac Grove and Catharine Wenger. I believe that wife "Lizzie" was Elizabeth Landes. They were married December 23, 1873, and I think they had upwards of 13 children. Unfortunately, I do not know where the "Sellers" came from for son Arthur's middle name. Dates on their gravestones read: Isaac N. Grove: b., 1851 - d., 1930, Aged 79 years E. Elizabeth Grove: b., 1854 - d., 1911, Aged 57 years A daughter, Anna Bell Grove is buried beside them: Anna Bell Grove: b., Mar 25, 1878 - d., Oct 2, 1885 'Aged 7 yr 6 mo 8 da: D/O I. N. & E. E. Grove' Arthur Sellers Grove mentioned in the Mennonite newspaper is buried next to his sister, Anna Bell. Arthur S. Grove: b. Feb 4, 1894 - d. Apr 24, 1896 'Aged 1 yr 2 mo 20da: S/O I. N. & E. E.
