    2. Martin & Susan Graves
    3. All, Be careful with the syntax Ken Graves posted on site (http://www.gravesfa.org/gen077.htm) for Cynthia Sellers. I supplied Ken with much updated information on my branch, and the syntax looks very much like my work and may have flaws. I believe the sentence "...In 1880, Synthia and Benjamin lived together in Mt. Croghan" refers to son Benjamin, not husband Benjamin. No record of Benjamin's military service and/or death have been located. No one seems to know WHERE "No. 2 National Cemetery, Fredericksburg, VA" is located or if he is on roll. Additionally, no one can remember who/where the source for Cynthia's parents being "...Joseph Sellers and Lillie Sutton" comes from. A noted Chesterfield Co. researcher suggests the following on Cynthia ... " ... is from the Matthew Sellers family. Matthew also lived on Thompson Creek near the area where out more widely known Hardy Sellers lived. Matthew left no will or any other records, but we belive that McCarroll Sellers who moved from Thompson Creek to current day Jefferson area is from this family as well as David Crokett Sellers whose son Levander Jackson Sellers moved near the current day Patrick area from Anson County, NC." Again. Any leads on the lineage of Cynthia would be appreciated. -----Original Message----- From: marie sellers hollinger [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, February 02, 2007 12:17 AM To: [email protected] Cc: [email protected]; [email protected] Subject: RE: [SELLERS] Cynthia Sellers, SC b. about 1832, married Graves FRANK, thanks for sharing info. We have worked on this family a little and sending a cc to a Graves relation. And an old Jordan connection. I kinda think it is the JORDAN family we need to trace OR our SELLERS kids. Benjamin Bennett Graves (198) was born about 1831 in Montgomery Co., NC, died 1861-1865 in or immediately after the Civil War, and was buried in No. 2 National Cemetery, Fredericksburg, VA. His name is recorded variously as William Bennett, Bennett B. and Benjamin B. He married Synthia Sellars (or Cynthia Sellers_[31]_ (http://www.gravesfa.org/gen077.htm#_ftn31) ), daughter of Joseph Sellers and Lillie Sutton. She was born about 1832 in Chesterfield Co., SC, died 26 May 1915_[32]_ (http://www.gravesfa.org/gen077.htm#_ftn32) , and was buried in the Providence Baptist Church Cem., Pageland, Chesterfield Co., SC. This family was recorded on the 1860 census in Montgomery Co., NC; their children were born in NC. By 1870, Synthia had returned to her native SC where she was recorded with her children in Chesterfield Co., SC. In 1880, Synthia and Benjamin lived together in Mt. Croghan, Chesterfield Co., SC. 3. FRANK, Thank You. We/I didn't have this 1826 estate of ISAAC SELLERS posted?? Common Pleas Court Minute Book 4 IS it same as you mentioned below? Do you have copy of original you could share? Would also like to see how James Sellers name is mentioned. What was date of probate? 1830's? had to be after 1831 when dau Nancy married? And Not all living kids listed?? 1820 Perry Co., Oh, Nancy Sellers over 45 = bef 1775 only has 3 males u 16 1830 Perry Co., Oh Nancy Sellers 1760/70 has a male 1760/1770 living with her Same? Graham's History of Fairfield and Perry Counties, O., published 1883, says on page 181 that Isaac Sellers died in 1818. He is said to have been the following, a: "warm-hearted Christian man in whose barn Rev. James Culbertson preached a farewell sermon, who died 1818 at age 49." The years work out for this to be Isaac Sellers, b. 1769-1770. Land patents suggest this Isaac was from Clayton Township. Isaac Sellers and William Sellers together patented 156.48 ac. in the SW part of Section 5 in Township 16 (Clayton Twp.) on March 8, 1813. This section is adjacent to the section where an Isaac Sellers patented 157 acres in 1804. This earlier patent was Clayton Twp., Section 6 on December 26, 1804. We can draw an inference that Isaac Sellers was closely connected to John Sellers who patented land in the same township on the same December 26, 1804. We can draw a second inference that Isaac Sellers was closely connected to William Sellers, since they both patented land in the same 640 acre section of land in 1813 (see above). (A later patent in that township was to Adam Zeller. It was in August 1805). Two other items. There is a possiblity Isaac b. 1869 left a wife Nancy: The 1820 census (conducted in November) of Clayton Twp., Perry Co., OH shows a young Isaac Sellars, a farmer, and a family of three people. This young Isaac is between 16 and 24, with wife between 16-26, and a daughter under 10. The 1828 membership rolls of the Unity Presbyterian Church of New Lexington, OH show an Isaac Sellers on the rolls listed just above Nancy Sellers. Perry County Estate Book E, p. 248, shows settlement of estate of Isaac and Nancy Sellars. Heirs shown are Joseph and Elizabeth Sellars of Marion County, OH, John and Martha Sellars of Perry County, OH, and Isaac and Nancy (Sellars) Cookson, of Sandusky County, OH. Turns out that it was to be held in Effingham, IL. I know it well. Clearly there were a lot of descendants of George Washington Fluckey. who died Tower Hill, Shelby Co. and who is a Sellers/Fluckey descendant. One lives in Florida, but maybe there is someone in IL. Since I make a trip almost every year at Memorial Day to decorate graves, I might be able to find someone local. Shelby Co. Historical Society MIGHT have info. The book costs about $100, so that is out unless Newberry Library in Chicago has it, and I could look at it there. I am going to see if the person who contacted me about the graves is still on the Shelby Co. IL list where I am already a member. If that is "no go" I will work on the other possible contacts to see if anyone has documents related to the Sellers family. It may take some time. 3. GRACIE, thanks, good articles I have to study , as I don't link these SELLERS as she does OR maybe I don't have all posted yet. But, I have a diff.. (History shows) JOHN SELLARS, farmer and stock-dealer and raiser; P. O., Cardington; was born in Perry Co., Ohio, Nov. 1, 1827, and is the oldest of a family of four children of Jacob and Effa (Fluckey) Sellars; George Fluckey, a revolutionary soldier, and grandfather of John Sellars, removed from Perry Co., O., to Morrow Co., and settled upon the farm now owned by the former, in the year 1834. OKAY, this is the history and her chart does NOT show this error. . MANY histories, do have errors AND you must check them out yourself Thanks for sharing SELLERS. marie, iowa -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of grace Sent: Saturday, February 17, 2007 11:32 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [SELLERS] Sellers/Fluckey Ok, ya'll have my attention. But I have forgotten what exactly you are looking for. Sorry, senior moments happen too often nowadays. For Stoltz, Stotz, Stotts, and Stotcoe, Staats. Also read that George Fluckey may have been French, not German. He was suppose to have been a Hessian soldier though who deserted. Chapter 5 of this work has much information on Mary Penelope Sellers and her Sellers family, source information is included. Mary Penelope Sellers was the wife of Arthur Robbins, Sr. of Brunswick County, NC. 3. The couple you mention (Sellers/Skinner) are NOT on the Fluckey site. I searched generally and found mention of a William Isaac Sellers who married Fanny Skinner, but there was no further info on him. She is supposed to be descended from Rev. Nathaniel Skinner (from memory). I also found an Asa Goodin who m. Mary Sellers, daugher of Isaac 1768/9 and Nancy Pauley on a Goodin site. On same a Goodin female was married to Skinner--remember name of Samuel Skinner. Did not examine this site carefully. If you want addresses for either of these sites, let me know. 3. I found pdf. files by just searching (on Yahoo) for the name George Fluckey. Two are called Descendants of George Fluckey--one is a Family Genealogy Report and the other is an Family Outline. Both appear to be created by Family Tree Maker. Again, these are pdf. files, but Yahoo allows me to see them in html also. I have tried to create a working link, but none seem to work. They all related to a Plainview Telephone Company. I will write out the addresses just as listed. I have tried shortening them, but that does not work--at least not so far. I suggest searching on the name and hoping that some similar address pops up on your browser. www.plvwtelco.net/family/Fluckey Family Genealogy Report.pdf www.plvwtelco.net/family/George Fluckey Family Outline.pdf Again, so far no luck with these addresses.
