Thank you for your help. I do have this census extract. Mary Merritt was Amariah's Grandmother, Daniel Merritt was his Grandfather, but I'm not sure if his mother the Merritt's daughter Ann or Jane. What was his father's name? Do you have any additional info? BARBARA, thanks. We/I have worked some on these families, but NO PROVEN parents . Do you have complete will copies and probate papers? (we/I only have extractions) WOULD like to see ALL papers of same. Do you have Civil War info? Did he /her draw a pension? Relation may be witness. I believe we know he is a son of JANE OR ANN MERRITT SELLERS. And a Grandson of Daniel and Mary Murfree MERRITT. Is Daniel a son or brother of JACOB MERRITT where he was married in 1801 with ABRAHAM SELLERS attending? (Rev War files of Daniel Merritt) I believe we have Two in 1800 Sampson Co., NC, one older. And I don't have a chart on either one. Do you? What census extractions do you have = Also, need Amariah SELLERS kids names and where they went and married. I believe I saw most to 1900? except 1870? WE will help where we can, but, haven't followed thro enough OR just ran out of info. I do have land records of Sampson/Duplin which I haven't extracted MERRITT info. Do you have? Most of mine before 1800/ etc. I have NOT been in contact with MERRITT families for several years, they may have new info? When did you check? Send what you can. It appears that the homepages.rootsweb.com sites have a serious problem. Does anyone know what that problem is? Nel Hatcher ============== Yes, don't know the nature of the problem but do know that the Homepages server went down about 4pm EDT this afternoon. It has been reported. I've so far noticed a resounding silence on this on the list, but it seems rather important to many of the Sellers in and around Georgia, so I will point out a couple of things... This appears to be the same William Sellers who was, so far as I can tell, the father of Jacob Benjamin Sellers, Simeon Thurman Sellers (presumably the same Simeon just mentioned in Second Creek War connection), Wright ("Right") Sellers, Elijah Sellers, Thomas Sellers, Elizabeth Sellers Peacock, Everett Sellers, David Ashley Sellers, and... presumably, one I just added to the list, William B. Sellers. Again, presumably, the David Hall who was legitimized to David Sellers, was David Ashley Sellers. So far as I recall I have never previously encountered Isaac Monroe Hall / Sellers. Since David Ashley Sellers and Thomas Sellers went to Alabama, were the only sons of William that I know of who did, and there married sisters... it's at least conceivable to me that Isaac Monroe Hall might have further changed his name to Thomas... but I sure *do NOT* know that for a fact. What concerns and confuses me, though, is that the information about William Sellers' wife, Nancy Moye, came through the Thomas Sellers line... and that information included David as another son of William and Nancy. Well... at this point so far as I can say, anything is possible... including that William Sellers had more than one son named David by different mothers. If anyone can "unconfuse" me, please do. In the meantime, "I'm confused" is my story, and I'm sticking to it! <G> Richard White Tallahassee, Florida Kay Martynuska wrote: >I found this in the Georgia Legislature documents, 1843 > >It’s on the sec of state, Georgia, web site: >http://neptune3.galib.uga.edu/ssp/cgi-bin/legis-idx.pl?sessionid=7f000001&ty >pe=law&byte=22411934 > >Sec. 7.
