Author: RobertSear55 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.sear/84.2.1.2.2.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi Faye, I done lots of work on this Sear family, but I am not much close to finding James Edward. Frank/Francis had 11 brothers and sisters and I have eliminated them from the search due to fact that I can find them in the 1901 census when James was in Australia. I have been working down the list of brothers and sisters and am now on William born 1866. Whitwich was famous for its coalmine giving a reason why James Edward joined the RE tunneling in WW1 I have been working around the sear tree to try and find any Jacksons but no luck so far I would love a copy of the Photo of Francis and James Edwars and also the postcard if possible. I have found a few photos documents and stories for you attached James Edwards sister Eliza Sear who became Eliza Brotherhood Regards Robert Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. M. A T. NESTOR Port Melbourne. He was listed as missing 13th May 1918 on the 23 may 1918 he was reported to be in German hands. There is a mention not only of brother Frank but Fred and i think Lizzie may be a brother and sister I am trying to get a good copy of the post card to send to you for you to look at. Now on his record of death it states his year of birth as 1966, not to bad as he died in 1948.Also it states he has been a resident in Australia for 59 years. i hope you can make sense of this information its very confusing good luck and thank you for your help. regards Faye Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: RobertSear55 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.sear/84.2.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi Faye, I can find Frank in 1926 in Hermitage Road whitlock Leicestershire as a Chimney sweep in Kelly s directory. If you send me your email I will send you the scans. Do you have any more dates or places please I'm confused by James being a prisoner of war, if he married in 1899 he must have been approx 20 years old, so by the start of WW1 in 1914 he must have been 35, which is old for a soldier in WW1, Do you have any more details please regards Robert Sear Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
