    1. [SEAMAN-L] Willet Seaman and Mary J. of Morris County, NJ

    3. It appears that the Morris County land record I ordered from SLC was not (as I'd hoped) a delayed one. It was land sold in 1857 by Willet Seaman and wife, Mary J. of New York City to Frederick A. Seaman, relationship not shown, of Chatham, Morris County, New Jersey. There were twelve lots and consideration was $1000. This comes from Book R6 page 374 of Morris County Deeds. The name of Willet Seaman who was married 7 Sept. 1808 to Mary Jenkins in Nantucket, Mass. was contributed to the records of the LDS church. Could that Willet be the same who deeded land to Fredrick almost 50 years later? The search for my Rev War Willets who was on the Tax Ratables of Morris County in 1784, '85 '86, '87 goes on. <Sigh> He had only a quarter section (160 acres) and little else he was taxed for. Cheap land in Northwest territory could've called him West. I figure he was born about 1748 since he had a son named David in 1768 in New Jersey. That would've put him in his 50s in 1800. But he isn't mentioned in Court Records of Monongalia, Va. nor on the AIS. Marilyn in San Diego. ---- 1999 resolutions: Find Willets Seaman, NJ line Rev. War soldier. ---- Researching PanAm men captured on Guam Dec. 1941 and interned in Kobe, Japan.
