    3. I think your "trivia" is fascinating. Makes this work much more interesting than simply a list of names and dates. And I bet that Martin V. B. Searing was Martin Van Buren Searing. Our illustrious 8th president was born about .5 mile from where I live. Wonder what the connection was with the Searings, if any? And Martin was not such a popular president. I can understand Abraham Lincoln (blank) or George Washington Seaman (seem to have seen lots of those). But Martin Van Buren? If it were not for the local grade school children trooping out to the cemetery every Dec 5 to lay a wreath on his tomb, I expect that the ceremony would go largely unattended, at least by the locals. Kinfolks The Searings were a related family of the Seamans as well as the Dotys. Here's an interesting entry in the Index of Deeds in Morris County in 1870: Grantor was Moses Doty and Grantees were Isaac W Searing and V. B. Martin. Book Z-7, Page 259. My first impulse was to think V. B. Martin was a Martin but farther down the page in 1872 is Searing, Martin V. B, Grantee and the Dover Cemetery Assoc'n as Grantor. Must've bought a plot there. If this trivia is not appropriate to the Seaman list, please inform.
