The Searings were a related family of the Seamans as well as the Dotys. Here's an interesting entry in the Index of Deeds in Morris County in 1870: Grantor was Moses Doty and Grantees were Isaac W Searing and V. B. Martin. Book Z-7, Page 259. My first impulse was to think V. B. Martin was a Martin but farther down the page in 1872 is Searing, Martin V. B, Grantee and the Dover Cemetery Assoc'n as Grantor. Must've bought a plot there.
