The following is an announcement from the GenConnect Staff that concerns our Seaman GenConnect boards (query, biography, deed, wills, Bible, pensions). Many of you have been having trouble accessing the Board and posting your messages. The server that has handled GenConnect is no longer big enough to service the vastly increased usage with all the new Boards coming online so it is being mover to a new server. "GenConnect will be down for a bit on Saturday night and Sunday morning, January 16 and 17, 1999, while it is being moved to a new box (bigger and faster)." "No "official" announcement will be made when it is back up. That will be obvious when the pages are once again available through a web browser."
