Listers: A friend sent me a reference to the men who were in Lexington Fort in 1781. On the list is the name of Charles Seaman, the earliest one I've heard of in that area. The next early one was John and Martha Seaman who were living in Hamilton County, Ohio in 1803 and sold their land to Jonah and William Seaman of Berkeley County, (W) Va. in a deed recorded in Monongalia County (W) Va.
