Hi Paula, Please let me know if you got my e-mail about witch burning. I seem to be having a problem with my e-mails. Thanks. Hi Paula, From everything I have seen, it was only in England. Capt. John Seaman served on a Grand Jury at Hempstead in a charge of witchcraft, the accused was not convicted. There is a picture that depicts the burning at the stake of Thomas Carman, William Seaman and Thomas Hudson at Norwich, England for their religious beliefs the 19th of May 1558. It is the book 'Biblia' the book was published in 1630's. My page also says you can learn more about the event by visiting 'Barbara Parker's Website. I think the England burnings were for religious beliefs, I think the Salam events was just hysteria. In early records, I have seen Capt. John Seaman referred to as "the one whose ancestors were burned at the stake." Would that have been in England? in Salem? for religious reasons?? Is there anything more than this one reference which was c. 1630s or 1640s? Paula

I didn't make much progress this past year. I have researched my lines to death. I am a member of the DAR and I did discover that I have more Revolutionary ancestors. I believe I have an additional 6. My Havens/Seaman line were Quakers. Unless they helped in a peaceful manner they don't qualify. I wish everyone luck in their searches. My favorite place to research is Fort Wayne, IN. Bobbie
I have Seaman and Morgan, but much earlier. Sorry

Hi Paula, Great to meet you! My line comes down thru Capt. John Seaman's son Nathaniel who married Rachel (Willis), Nathaniel Jr., Thomas, Isaac, Conklin Sr., Conklin Jr., he was a butcher in Brooklyn in 1870, Archibald, and then my Grandmother Susan S. (Seaman) who had my Dad Charles F. Strickling. I'm glad to get the full name of John Mott. Do you know any of the other people that Capt. John Seaman's children married? I have: Martha marrying a Pearsell, Deborah marrying a Kirk, Hannah marrying a Carmen, Mary marrying a Pearsell. I don't have any first names. Do you know any of Capt. John Seaman's brothers and sisters? I have 5 gs back from Capt. John, I only got it from one source, so I don't know just how correct it is, but I'll share it with you if you want. Let me know.
