    1. [SEAMAN-L] Fw: Looking for Sylvanus SEAMAN
    2. Jim Rubins, Napa, CA
    3. I am forwarding your message to the SEAMAN e-mail researchers group. There are several people who are beating their heads against the wall trying to find out about the Sylvanus Seaman you mention. I suspect they will give you solace and comfort and describe all the efforts they have made trying to make connections between the Long Island SEAMAN family and your Sylvanus Seaman. There is a line of SEAMANS [note the final "s"] who descended from Thomas SEAMANS of Swansea, Massachusetts. Several of this clan were also in Herkimer [and Tyron ] counties with the Long Island SEAMAN family members. What is even more confusing.... several of the Massachusetts SEAMANS family members dropped the final "s" from their name and so make the sorting out all that more difficult! Welcome to the dilemmas of doing family history! ----- Original Message ----- From: billy shepherd <billyjoyce@webtv.net> To: <jmrubins@napanet.net> Sent: Wednesday, July 28, 1999 8:07 PM Subject: SEAMAN > Hi, I'm looking for Sylvanus SEAMAN. b. 1806, Fairfield, Herkimer Co., > NY., d.
