    2. Has any one tried to sort out the Seaman families who lived in Westchester County? I have started to collect names from Cemetery Listings, etc. , but have not tried to put them together as families. Am I crazy to try this? I can't believe that so many Seamans moved there - and were all unrelated !!!!!! I have been sorting thru Jacobs families to figure them out and which of them are related to the Seamans and I think I am getting somewhere with that family! So it might be possible with the Seamans also! Maybe in the process I will find siblings for my Rebecca Seaman and maybe Terry Wilson will find his James' family. Judy Wolf

    1. [SEAMAN-L] SEAMAN mill has its own web site
    2. Jim Rubins
    3. My maternal great grandfather, Absolam Everett Seaman [b.April 24, 1856 d. December 23, 1940] purchased a mill in 1891 located in Montgomery County, NY. The Mill was rotting away for years until an entrepreneur came in and has rehabilitated the whole site. It is now a bed and breakfast that is on the National Historic Register and the New York State Historical Site list. The web site with pictures of the mill and house are at: http://www.innbythemill.com/ Now, IF I could only figure out how my SEAMAN line connects to the Long Island SEAMANs! Jim Rubins Napa, CA

    1. [SEAMAN-L] Seaman GenConnect boards
    2. Carolyn Seaman
    3. The following is an announcement from the GenConnect Staff that concerns our Seaman GenConnect boards (query, biography, deed, wills, Bible, pensions). Many of you have been having trouble accessing the Board and posting your messages. The server that has handled GenConnect is no longer big enough to service the vastly increased usage with all the new Boards coming online so it is being mover to a new server. "GenConnect will be down for a bit on Saturday night and Sunday morning, January 16 and 17, 1999, while it is being moved to a new box (bigger and faster)." "No "official" announcement will be made when it is back up. That will be obvious when the pages are once again available through a web browser." So when the board is back online it should be better and faster then before! Carolyn Mussina Seaman Kinderhook, NY <gregseaman@berk.com>

    1. [SEAMAN-L] Searching for Seaman's
    2. Jim & Shawn Gilhooley
    3. I have just signed up to SEAMAN-L and have just started researching my Seaman line as I knew this would be the most difficult. I am now living in New Zealand and have to rely mostly on the internet. There is a an LDS FHC here but the resources are limited. My father is Joseph Lorin Seaman Jr, he was abandon by his parents at age nine and grew up in the circus, so only has limited knowledge of his family. He was born in the Bronx 11/3/29. His father was Joseph Lorin Seaman we believe was born in MT Vernon New York in 1898. He had two brothers, Robert born around 1923 and Richard born 6 October 1925 and died 21 Sept 1995. Joseph was married to a Mohawk Indian whose name was Senatani (not sure of spelling) She was born on the resevation near Albany New York in 1896 or 7. She was taken in by a vaudeville family called Ziegler (spelling) and her name was changed to Miriam. I know this is not much to go on. Does any of this sound familiar to anyone??? Thanks Shawn Gilhooley syzygy@xtra.co.nz
