    3. Hi Gail and Lee, I too have Yonts connections but in western Ky (area of Muhlenberg and back in the early to mid 1800s. They came from Pa., N.C.).. The connection is by marriage with my "Helsley" which my side has inserted a "t" over time. Can we hear more about your specific connections. Give a holler if you are interested. Ernie Heltsley

    3. I have seen the names Easterling and Gillespie intertwined with the Ratliff lines. The Creech and Fields families that I descend from are intertwined with my Ratliff branch. I have hit a brick wall with my Ratliff line so I don't know if we connect to the same Easterling and Gillespie lines. I do know that at one time, a Gabbard family lived on top of Pine Mountain in Letcher County, between Whitesburg and Cumberland. This area is very near where my Fields, Creechs and Ratliffs are from. I know that many of these families came into this area from Pound Gap, Virginia. If I could find the missing Ratliff puzzle I think that we would find all of the connections.

    3. The only Rose that I have found in my lines is Dilla Rose, she married Melville Walden. They had a son, William Greenberry "Berry" Walden b. 1849 in Tennessee. Berry married Margrett Redmon. My father says that he heard "Rose" was shortened from Rosenbaum or Rosenstein or something. I would love to find more about Dilla and the Rose name. Thanks, Steve Gilbert
