Hello list! My grandparents, Bertha SALYER(S) and Anton/Tony POYE/POJE were married between 1900 and 1904 - I think. At first I thought they were married in Magoffin Co, KY - both are listed as single in 1900 Magoffin Co, KY Census - but I haven't been able to find anything there. I tried all the surrounding counties too. And knowing they traveled quite a bit - I tried Ohio, then West Virginia (they are in the 1910 Census McDowell Co). Still nothing. Finally when I found their 1924 divorce papers in Detroit, MI, it said they were married in Virginia. The family was in Detroit ca 1917. Not being familiar with Virginia counties near KY, does anyone have a suggestion for where I can look? Thank you, Laurie Levy Royal Oak, MI LaurieMcK@aol.com
Dear Friends, I just received the letter below from John Lemaster regarding the project to purchase a memorial marker. I think that many of you will agree that this is a most worthy cause. If you are related to this family and would like to donate please take a few minutes and do so. With John and Pat at the helm I believe that this indeed is a very valid project and I endorse your support. Also be sure to check out the Lemaster Reunion page for details on the upcoming Lemaster Reunion. http://www.rootsweb.com/~kyjohnso/LemasterReunion.htm If you have any questions at all I am sure that John will be most happy to answer them. Thanks everyone for your time and help. If you know anyone with relatives to this Lemaster clan please forward this one. Thanks, Mary Ann ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The fund that we started for the monument for Eleazer Lemaster is still a little short of what we had hoped to receive. If there are any descendants of Eleazer and his two wives, Machell Tackett Lemaster or Rachel Ramey Lemaster that want to contribute please do so soon. We have set a date of 30 April to order the monument and get it set before the reunion . We will go with what we have by the last of April and may have to buy a smaller monument than we had wanted to. Many thanks. Contributions can be sent to either John Lemaster, 6221 Kyle Ct., Ashland, Ky 41102 or Ms Pat Patton, 444 Main St., Paintsville, Ky 41240. John Lemaster jlem@netacs.net

Hi, No, Pulaski isn't covered by this region. Here's the official Rootsweb description of what the list covers: : A mailing list for anyone with a genealogical interest in the Kentucky counties that border Tennessee, West Virginia and Virginia, and surrounding south eastern Kentucky counties (i.e., Whitley, Knox, Bell, Harlan,Clay, Leslie, Perry, Letcher, Knott, Breathitt, Pike, Floyd, Martin, Johnson, Morgan, Lawrence.) The Cumberland-River-L list has Pulaski listed as one of the states covered. My mother, was born and raised in Ashland, Boyd Co., KY. Her cousin Beulah Darraugh (Darrah, Darrow) married a Crabtree (?James?) of Portsmouth Ohio. This area is where KY, OH and WVA borders meet so I would check census records in the three states. Mom says his family was from Ohio.
