Marie, A few years ago I did some research in the SD Archives in Pierre. I was looking at microfilms of the New Era for the time period of 1900 to 1910. I don't know if they have the New Era back to 1882. Check their website. They have info on what's available and research costs. The New Era was published in Parker in 1882. Does anyone know where to find them either on the web or on microfilm? I stopped by the newspaper office in Parker last Summer. Someone at the New Era office told me that the editions from that early time were to have been put on one of the online newspaper services. I asked a few; the person at the New Era office thought maybe Small Town Newspapers sounded familiar, Thank you for your help. Marie Peer

I too wonder if corrections and/or additons can be made. Actually, one of my gt gt grandmothers is buried there. Although she died in 7 June 1882, she had no stone until the 1950's so that would be the reason the WPA didn't list her burial.
