My husband is descended from George Washington Hinkley married to Emily (nee: Gould) and lived in Parker from about 1880 until his death. They lived in Rosendale, Fond Du Lac Co., Wisconsin until about 1880 when they bought land in Lincoln Co., SD. George moved to SD with a couple of brothers, Jacob, John G. and Orin D. Hinkley. One brother stayed in Fond Du Lac Co., Wisconsin. His name was Gideon. Orin D., (Civil War vet) finally moved to McMinnville, Tennessee around 1890-95 and then died there. This family moved to Wisconsin from Lisbon, Maine about 1855. Prior to their Wisconsin years, this family lived many many years in Maine. This family descends from the Barnstable, Massachusetts Hinkleys and were part of the early settlers of that area. One of the females in the early Hinkley line pulls in the ancestry of Mayflower Pilgrim William Brewster into this line. Let's exchange any notes. I have so many questions about this branch of the Hinkleys. You may just be the missing link! You may email me privately: weddle@comcast.net I look forward to hearing more from you!

I did have a chance one time to see that Centennial book. I hope to see it again sometime. Thanks for the info, too, about the Millage surname in Vermillion. My family connection to this family is quite the story....my mother was a Darrow by birth, but was raised in an adoptive home....never knew her biological lineage. I have only recently found out lots of info, unfortunately Mom passed away before she could know. It has been lots of years, and I am thrilled to find this new information and meet a few of the descendants of the birth parents. Thanks again....Linda Z.

We have ties to Hinkley's in Parker. Carrie Ervin married E.G. Hinkley. They had 4 children: Lloyd, Harold, Arthur and Gladys. I may have a picture of the tombstone. Aunt Carrie moved to CA after her husband died to live with Gladys. This is my sister's email address. My modem is dead. I am getting a new computer as mine is so old. If these names are of help let Lorna know and she will get in touch with me. I will check my information and share with you if it is the right family. Irene

As my mother went to school with Anna Skotvold I thought it was quite a coincidence. But, the reason I am writing is that there is an Anne Sather, of Norway, who married Martinus Magnus Larsen, and lived/died near (south of) Beresford. As Beresford is only nine miles from Centerville, what is the likelihood that these Sathers are one and the same? If so I can put you in touch with a Larson/Larsen relative. dj
