Frank Allison was my grandfather's older brother. All of my Allison relatives moved to Parker in Turner Co., SD from Ida and Sac Counties in western Iowa in the early 1900s. Does the article say anything about how long Frank, Margaret and their daughters lived in Parker? I don't know the names of Robert Anderson's parents or siblings. Thanks for sharing your infomation. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/BhB.2ACI/112.1.2.2.2.1.1 Message Board Post: Dear Mary, I have two Anderson families mentioned and one Allison family, but none of them list the names that you mentioned. I have a Frank and Margaret allison who were married in in Ida Grove, Ia. on Nov. 5, 1891. They had two daughters, Erma and Bessie. One Anderson family listed Amos and Melvia, were married in Parker at the Presbyterian church. in 1902. They had three sons listed as Louie, Fred and Julian. The other family was that of Martin Anderson and Magdelene Olsen who came to Parker from Denmark. They were married Dec 8, 1894 and raise five sons and six daughters. It doesn't give the names of any of the children, but it's possible this could be your ancestors. They were farmers and the farm was located 1 1/2 miles west of Parker. The one son who is named "OTTO" was the owner of the farmstead at the time of the writing of the book. If these are not your kin, don't feel bad, because my grandparents were upstanding citizens in the community and there names were not mentioned either. If perchance one of these may be related, let me know and I'll try to make you a copy of the page. Good hunting Bill

Robert and Lula would have been married sometime in the early 1900s before 1920, I think. Is there any information about the Allison family who lived in or farmed near Parker in the early 1900s? I know that Eugene and Mary Allison, my grandparents, and Loren Allison and Lula Allison Anderson Whitaker, my uncle and aunt, are buried in Rosehill Cemetery in Parker. I'm sure that Robert Anderson is also buried in Rosehill Cemetery. If there is any information about the Allisons in the Centennial Book, how can I get a copy of those pages? Thank you. 1. [SDTurner] John Wesley Turner's Obituary
    2. I am researching the Turner brothers' time in Turner Co SD (which was named for one of them, John Wesley Turner b 1800 in NY). Working backwards, I recently found a website that has a memorial to JWT which deals with his time in Michigan: http://www.mifamilyhistory.org/memorials/memorial.asp?s_memID=35&s_Surname=tur ner& There is an obituary notice copied to this site that was published in the Yankton Press and Dakotian. It is the same obituary that is reproduced in the TURNER COUNTY PIONEER HISTORY Compiled by W.H. Stoddard, 1931. Blessings, Joanne Turner

I have a copy of that and in it is an article called "The Four Turner Brothers". This lists Peter H; Don Carlos; and William R Ellis Turner, aka "Uncle Billy", and tells about them and some of their descendants. It also has a seperate article on John W. "Father" Turner for (according to the book) whom the county was named. I'm not sure what the relationship was between JW Turner and the Turner Brothers. If you have not seen these articles or are interested in them, I would be happy to forward copies of them to you.
