Dear Pennington List, I was curious as to whether there is a death index for South Dakota, and if so, if some kind person would be willing to check to see if there is a Kate/Katherine? A. ENGEL listed between 1890 and 1899. Her maiden name was FARRELL. Her husband August C. ENGEL was my great-grandmother's brother. The family lost touch of him so he is a bit of a mystery. August and Kate married 22 october 1890 in Rapid City, So. Dakota. Kate must have died between then and 1900, because he remarried in 1900 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
