Did Lewis become NORBYE later, or was that the spelling when Pearl died? I'm not connected to this family except indirectly. Do you happen to know whether your RUTAN connects to Andrew POE's wife Elizabeth RUTAN (25 S 1758, Essex Co., NJ - 13 Jan. 1839, Beaver Co., PA, bu. Mill Creek Presbyterian Cem., Hookstown, PA)? I think I descend from Andrew's sister Sophronia POE, but I haven't found absolute proof.
