Hello - My relatives James Lynch MYLES and his wife Nell lived in rapid City till about 1970. They left Scotland about 1923 to go to USA. I am hoping to find them on the 1930 census. They had no children. I found James on the Social Security Deaths Index. He died in 1973, his wife died earlier, about 1969. His residence at death was given as Newcastle, Weston, Wyoming but he was still in Rapid City 1969 when visited by a brother. He was born in Arbroath, Scotland on 23 Sep 1899. His Soundex number is M420. I would like to know his address there, and his occupation. I was told that he had artistic talent. Whether he followed that up in Rapid City, I don't know. Is there a street map of Rapid City available on Internet? Regards, Aileen in Australia.
At one time, prior to 1970, I lived near Rapid City, So. Dak. I do not know the relative you are looking for but I do know that there are street maps on the internet. A search engine could take you to several map sites and you could go from there. Additionally, the newspaper: "Rapid City Daily Journal" might have some references to the Myles family. I hope you enjoy success in tracing your family. I was born and raised in Rapid City, am currently residing in Montana, anyhow contact the Rapid City Chamber of Commerce and they may be able to help with a few things, like a map as well. There are several map sites on the internet. If I remember right try map.com or usamap.com. I still have friends and family in Rapid I will ask them if they know of anything.
