I will try it! Thanks Pearl was Pearl Nordbye at her death. Unfortunately, I don't know who the Rutan is from PA yet!! I've been in touch with most of the lines and nothing so far. I suspect this will be a tough one. Mine would be b abt 1839 PA married Sarah Swengan (I suspect is really Swearingen). also b 1839 PA (haven't gotten a better location so far).

If you post the exact dates, maybe somebody would look up an obituary for you in Rapid City. What was the spelling of her last name on the death certificate? Did Lewis become NORBYE later, or was that the spelling when Pearl died? I'm not connected to this family except indirectly. Do you happen to know whether your RUTAN connects to Andrew POE's wife Elizabeth RUTAN (25 S 1758, Essex Co., NJ - 13 Jan. 1839, Beaver Co., PA, bu. Mill Creek Presbyterian Cem., Hookstown, PA)? I think I descend from Andrew's sister Sophronia POE, but I haven't found absolute proof.

It is John Rutan's father that I will next be searching for next. Yes, I had Peter & Lena and Jessie plus some more kids later. Appreciate your work and suggestions. Any chance that you're related to this line? Filling in the blanks.

If she died before her husband, it's possible she did not have a Social Security record. Could this be your Louis NORBY (1 Nov. 1886 - July 1963, MN)? There were two RUTAN land patents in Lyman Co., SD, Peter & John, both in 104-71, Sec. 4 (& 9). Several RUTAN entries appear on SSDI for Chamberlain, SD, just across the Missouri River to the east from Lyman Co. John RUTAN & Caroline OLSON had Carl, b. 1892. Peter RUTAN & Lena PETERSON had Jessie, 1890; & Wm. (22 Aug. 1899 - May 1966, Long Beach, CA). Of course, the spelling is iffy--the handwriting is my mother's, and she may have written it somewhat phonetically as my gmother dictated it. Anyway, they were taken around 1940-42, in Rapid City, South Dakota, where my gparents, Howard and Jessie Maxwell were living at the time. If you are a descendent of Lillian's, we would love to send you these pictures. Please email me for more information.
I am looking for any information on my grandparents, Clifford and Mildred Richardson, who lived in Owanka, South Dakota from about 1918 until 1929, when Clifford died. He delivered mail to surrounding ranches and she ran a drugstore in Wall. They had 6 sons. Clifford is buried in the Lakeside Cemetery. Thanks

George Washington Scott married Emma Sylvia Belden in Dec. 24, 1907. To this union were born 2 children: Edna Maude Scott and Freeman Elmer Scott. Emma remarried in 1927. Trying to find out if George passed away or if they divorced and he stayed behind. If he died, maybe he is buried around Wall, SD. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
