Do you know what area in Pennington County that they lived in? In a publication by the Rapid City Society for Genealogical Research titled "Index to the Behrens' Mortuary Records 1879-1971" there is a Dorsey Wm. Myers listed as having died 12 Oct 1939--age 68 and buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Rapid City. I hope this is helpful. Lorraine

I found them in the 1920 census. I found Uriah with his father and mother in the 1850 Census for Tipton, Indiana. Then I found him with Jane Malinda and family in the 1880 and 1900 census for Monona Co., Iowa. Uriah Jr. and Colonel, George and Emmma and Edna and Freeman in the 1920 Census for Pennington Co., South Dakota. Emma and George divorced and Emma moved back to Iowa. I haven't found George since the census. I am trying to find if he stayed in the Wall area and died there or what. He would be my great grandfather. Emma remarried in 1927 to a Ben Johnson and stayed in the Sioux Rapids, Laurens, Iowa area. I lost tract of George after they divorced. At least I think they divorced. He could have died. If he did die, then he had to of died before 1927. But not real sure on this part. He is my missing link. If you can find any of the family that was around in that area, I would greatly appreciate it. Th! ank you for all of your help.

At one time, early after his marriage to Anna Deihl, on October 10, 1893 in Black Hawk, south Dakota, John Deihl worked for the forestry service in the Black Hills. I have information that Hans, Carin, Peter and John Rooth are buried at Black Hawk, South Dakota. 1. [Penn'gtn] SWANDER Family Photographs
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph album including some SWANDER Family photographs. The first photograph is of Viola C. SWANDER, age 31, taken at the W.J. Collins Studio in Rapid City, South Dakota. The photograph was probably taken in the 1890's sometime. The second photograph which is identically mounted is of Harry SWANDER age 50 and notes that it was taken in 1896, also at the W.J. Collins Studio in Rapid City, SD. These first two photographs appear to have been taken at the same time suggesting they are a married couple. The next photograph is of Edward & Harry SWANDER and notes that Harry is age 3. This photograph was also taken at the Collins Studio in Rapid City,SD, probably in the 1890's. Edward is probably about 9 years old in this photograph. The fourth photograph is a group photo including both Edward H. SWANDER, age 11 and Harry V. SWANDER, age 5. The others in the photograph are J.C. EGGLESTON age 59 and Ethel HALE age 3. The photographer was Quiggle & Johnson at Rapid City, SD, likely taken in the 1890's sometime. Other surnames which appear in the album are: WEAD, PEARSON, COUTS, PIKE, MCDONNEL, MCELERHAN, and CARNS With photographs originated from: Clarinda, Iowa; Le Mars, Iowa; and Alliance, NE; I'm hoping to locate someone from this family so that this wonderful album can be returned to family. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

    2. You will probably get a response from Ellen too. The little girl was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Rapid City. She is just listed as D/O Chet R., no name. Her death date was 8 Jun 1941. On Tuesday I can check with the cemetery to see where her grave is located. Stella

Surnames: Bruce, Pearce, Overstreet, Earp, Bell, Snook Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/wdB.2ACE/285.3.1.1 Message Board Post: Ellen, I was reading through the message board and noticed you said you had the names of people buried in Pennington County. I am looking for the grave of a baby girl born in 1941. She was born to my parents and died either weeks or months after she was born. During their lifetime they refused to talk about her at all and after their deaths we could not even find a birth certificate or death certificate. We had only heard vague mentions of her from other relatives. I received her birth certificate yesterday in the mail and we are thrilled..we had not even known her name. I have now sent for a death certificate but we would like to know where she was buried. Her name was "Mary Jane Bruce", born June 8, 1941. Her parents were Marvel Pearce Bruce and Chet R. Bruce. We know she was born in Pennington County, but not the city. For some reason that was not on the birth certificate. She may be buried in Pennington, she may not be...we just don't know. My parents moved away short! ly after her birth, although they were both S. Dakota natives. I was born in 1944 in Wyoming....and also named Mary but with the middle of name of Kay. If you have easy access to such information, I would appreciate either being pointed in a direction or find out if she is buried in Rapid City etc.. Thank you for any help or advice. Mary Bruce Haunreiter
