    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph album which includes a photograph of Lulu MCDONNEL taken at the W.J. Collins Studio in Rapid City, SD. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's with Lulu appearing to be in her teens at the time. I'm hoping to find her family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the family. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

    1. [Penn'gtn] EGGLESTON Family Photographs
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph album including some EGGLESTON Family photographs. The first photograph is a group photo including J.C. EGGLESTON age 59 taken at the Quiggle & Johnson Studio in Rapid City, South Dakota. The photograph was likely taken in the 1890's and includes three children, Edward H. SWANDER age 11; Harry V. SWANDER age 5; and Ethel HALE age 3; The second photograph is of two women J. CARNS and N. EGGLESTON taken at the W.J. Collins Studio in Rapid City, SD. It is noted on the photograph that N. EGGLESTON is "George's wife". This photo was probably taken in the 1880's with both women appearing to be in their 20's at the time. The third photograph is of the EGGLESTON Family including Mother, Father, and 2 daughters. It was taken at the E.B. Hinman Studio in Clarinda, Iowa. The photo appears to have been taken in the 1870's or 1880's with the two girls both appearing to be in their teens and the parents in their 40's or 50's. Other surnames which appear in the album are: WEAD, PEARSON, COUTS, PIKE, MCDONNEL, MCELERHAN, and CARNS With photographs originated from: Le Mars, Iowa; and Alliance, NE; I'm hoping to locate someone from these families so that these wonderful old photographs can be returned to their rightful place with family. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

    1. [Penn'gtn] HALE Family Photographs
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph album which includes some photographs belonging to the HALE Family. The first is a photograph of Ethel HALE, taken in the early 1900's it notes that she is "Hesper's Sister". There is no location or photographer identified on this photograph. The second photograph has the name J.P. HALE and "Ethel & Parents" listed on the back of the photograph. This photograph was likely taken in the 1880's when Ethel was just a toddler and her parents were in their 30's or 40's. I don't know that J.P. HALE is the man in the photograph or if the photo was being given to him. The third photograph is a group photograph including Ethel HALE at age 3, taken at the Quiggle & Johnson Studio at Rapid City, South Dakota. The photograph was likely taken in the 1890's and includes J.C. EGGLESTON age 59, Edward H. SWANDER age 11, Harry V. SWANDER age 5, and Ethel. The HALE name appears a fourth time on an empty slot in the album where someone has handwritten the name Alice MCELERHAN HALE. With very limited research I did find an M. Alice MCELHERAN and John P. HALE living in Lawrence, SD and having children there in 1897 and 1898. The two boys are Lloyd Preston HALE and Noel Mack HALE. There is obviously some connection, however, I've no idea what it might be. I'm hoping that someone connected with this family can be located so that these wonderful old photographs can be returned to the families. If you are a member of this HALE family of know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/wdB.2ACE/314 Message Board Post: I'm looking for info on my Grandfather Morris Alexander Born May 8th, 1892 in Rapid City to Alfred C. and Mary Alexander. Lived in Terry, (what is now called central city) between Lead and Deadwood. I was told that Alfred had a taylor shop in Deadwood. It was told to me that He had made the suite that Wild Bill was wearing when he was killed and that Alfred had also made the suit that he was buried in. Morris left South Dakota in 1906 to homestead near Shoshone and Riverton Wyoming, and Later homesteaded near Lenore (now Crowheart) Wyoming and then Dubois Wyoming. He never would talk about his life in South Dakota as a child or about his parents. Morris did have one brother Charles who lived in Janesville Wisconsin and was the Pres of a bank in Plattville. He was killed in an Auto accident in the early 70's. Any info would be great!
