She was born June 2, 1927 to Bert and Clara Reber, in Caputa, South Dakota. Avis graduated from Rapid City High School in 1947. She retired from Safeway in Vacaville and traveled extensively throughout the United States. She is survived by her children, Joe Thomas of Big Fork, Montana, Steve Millar of Martinez, Linda Alsbury of Winters and Patrick Thomas of Apache Junction, Arizona, 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. she is also survived by sisters Doris Zimmerman and Ollie Rounds of Sturdis, South Dakota, Shirley Bender of Rapid City South Dakota and brothers Doyle and Bert Reber of Des Moines, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Daniel Thomas, two sisters, Beulah Huff and Delma Comer and three brothers, Johnnie, Bob, and Harvey Reber. A memorial service will be held July 8, at Gateway Chapel in Winters. (Obituary from the "Winters Express," Thursday, July 3, 2003, (Yolo County). Lydia Hayes was the daughter of Loyd Hayes and Nancy Swaim, who resided in Pleasant Grove, Des Moines County, IA.
Looking for a kind person who would do a lookup of an obit in Rapid City paper for a T. Rae Reichman or Tommie Rae Reichman born 2 Aug 1918 died Jun 1987. Also any descendants of the same. Tommie Rae was born in KS and was the oldest child of Ernest and Pearl (Brown) Reichman. He had one sister, Lillian May Reichman , who married my great uncle, Harry Otis Brown. (no relation to her mother that I know of) Known marriage was to Rosie (Moser) and known child was Walter Rae Reichman b. 1944 prob. TX , died in OK I believe.
