Hello! I'm looking for information on John W. Campbell. I've found him in Pennington Co. in 1910, with a wife, Laura and one daughter. John is age 47 and Laura is 38 years old in 1910. The census lists their daughter, Jessie, as being born in Kansas, but I don't know when they moved to SD. If anyone could help me find them in 1890-1910, I'd appreciate it. Kathleen

They moved to Pennington County between 1905 and 1910 (they appear in the 1910 Federal Census). Harvey's widow Mary Elizabeth Demuth Ross moved the family to Illinois after his death. Oral family history says that Harvey was killed when cutting through a railroad switching yard and was struck by a boxcar. He was a preacher and was returning from a visit to a parishoner. I'm interested in any documentation, such as a newspaper article. I also understand that the winter of 1911/12 was brutal. Any inof available? Two of Harvey Oscar Ross' brothers moved to the Wall area about the same time (they also appear in the 1910 census): Jesse S. and Amanda V. Ross Allen B. and Ada M. Ross Are there any descendants still living in the area? Thanks, Dave Ross

Creighton Cemetery shows up on the topo map about 1/2 mile east of Creighton (or 1-1/2 miles west of 194th Street) on the north side of the road. But when I switched over to the satellite photo, I could not see anything readily identifiable at that location. If there is a cemetery there it must be pretty small and probably not well marked or maintained. The link for the satellite photo is http://terraserver-usa.com/image.aspx?t=1&s=10&x=3618&y=24520&z=13&w=2 The topo map shows the cemetery as being located about where the west end of the jog in the road is.

Back in early 1973 I spent a few months with relatives near Folsom, in NW Custer County. There was a woman named Maggie Warren who ranched a few miles east of Folsom along Spring Creek. I do not recall meeting her but her age was such that she could have been the daughter of Peter Lemley. You might see if you can find anything about the Lemley family in Custer County.

While in Creighton, I was searching for Creighton Cemetery, Emmanuel Cemetery and St Paul's Cemetery. Though I found the last 2, I was unable to locate Creighton Cemetery. Does it or did it ever exist?? According to my map, it was suppose to be about 1 1/2 miles south down 194th St. and about 1 mile west on Creighton Rd. from the Emmanuel Cemetery. All I found was a corn field and a mini junk yard there. Thanks, Glenn Palmer
