    1. Re: Looking For Obituary on Roy Doman
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: DOMAN, SCOTT, BENNETT MULLENBY, GIBSON, CLARK Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/0gB.2ACI/287.3.1.1 Message Board Post: I own a book entitled Valley Springs Centennial 1878-1978. In it there is this biography under "The Frank Domans." Franklin (Frank) Doman and Mary Jane (Mel Scott) Doman were married in McClure County, Bloomington, Ill. They came to the Larchwood, Iowa-Valley Springs vicinity with two sons, Orville (Felix) and Roy. They first settled around Larchwood farming the land. They later homesteaded the land 4 1/2 miles south of Valley Springs. Charley Doman was born after coming to South Dakota. They farmed there until retiring when Roy Doman purchased the farm and is now owned by Donald Doman and Marie (Doman) Bennett. Orvy married Lillian Mullenby and was a barber in Madison, S.D., later moving to California where he and Lillian died. He had five children--Leonard, Gene, Dorothy, Zita and Genevieve and all live in California, except Gene who died. Roy married Alice Gibson and lived in South Dakota all his life. Mavis, Marie and Donald were his children. They are married and live near Sioux Falls, Valley Springs and Beaver Creek, Minn. Charley died while in service of World War I. He was stationed at Brookings, S.D. The American Legion Post 131 is named after him. As a grandmother I have a lot of fond memories with my grandparents. Written by Mavis Doman Clark
